Let us take a look at some feeders. We are just going to concentrate on a few feeders and leads that are most commonly used. The feeders I have here are called cage feeders and these are filled with ground bait and we use this by filling the ground bait into the feeder before we cast. Now when that hits the bottom, the ground bait actually bursts of these feeders and attracts the fish.
There is a second type of feeder we have, it is the maggot feeder, you will see they come in various sizes, the large ones and the small ones, depending on where you are fishing and the term here, to what size you use. The maggot feeders again, they are fixed on a line in exactly the same way as a ground bait feeder but instead of filling with ground bait, you simply take the top cut off and fill with maggot.
And the maggots because he use got hose it will actually wriggle out when it is in the bottom and if you watch, they wriggle out slowly and attract fish.
Now that is just the basic feeder, you can actually use other bait through that you can put caster, you can put worm through that and you can also hemp in there if you wish as well and it will slowly disperse from the hose.
Now lastly, is the plain ledger weight. Now that can also be used and exactly the same way as the feeders except obviously, you are not feeding a ground bait. Nowadays, there are even alleged to a camouflage, you can buy them in all sorts of colors to much any type of bottom color that you wish. They use very often in clear water and on rivers.
Now, this is just a small selection of some of the feeders. There are more feeders available, all different types but, I leave it to you to experiment and find out what feeder suit you best.
