Male1: GuitarLessons.com, the number one name in guitar lessons online.
Male2: In this gear review on guitarlessons.com, we’re going to be taking a look at the Standard Mexi Strat. It’s a really cool guitar, a lot of features to pick from. They're about $499, start about $499. Color options can change the price a little bit and they come with a gig bag which is nice. You don’t have to buy a gig bag to go along with it. Maple neck, C-shape neck, you got the option of rose wood or maple fret board with each one. Pink tuners, 3 standard Fender single pickups. Guitar blues switch. Two tones, one volume, alder body. The color on, this is a wine red one, it comes in a lot of different color. Sun burst, black, blue, they got just a regular red. A lot of cool color options for you to kind of customize your own look of your guitar. Let’s take a look at a couple of selling gives in this thing. The first thing I like in this in the beginning was the five way switch selecting and that pickup and the middle pickup. It’s a nice really kind of a smooth flaky sound that I like. The next tone that I really like just the neck pickup, just by itself, I've added a distortion at it to. This really single chorally and soulful sound. If I take the distortion off. It’s totally cleans up nicely.
If I turn it back to the bridge position pickup, you got some really bright, it’s just a country on it. That’s why it’s called the universal guitar. Now if you're looking for something that’s really, really fat sounding like a Les Paul, this probably isn’t for you. You probably get a Les Paul, you're going to have to decide between the two if you want like a really fat full tone. This is more of a spanky, swingy, shivery, and when you get the distortion on it you can get a really nasty roll. It’s really cool tone. Something that if you're a guitar player for the rest of your life, it’s probably be a good idea to have a Strat in your arsenal of some kind so you can have that tone base kind of cover. And for only 499, this is not a bad deal guys. It’s a pretty good guitar.
The setups on this things, hit and miss a little bit, I've played of this guitars. And the setup kind of graze a lot, so if you go buy one of this, play as many as you can and make sure you get one that feels really good to you.
