actually that is really not true the slower the movement the more muscle fibers are used and speed uses momentum and could lead to injury!! where did u learn this from the FLEX magazines? and if u dont agree with me read some of arthur jones articles i do take u know who that is i mean he only trained steroid FREE mr. olympians. Do some more homework on this so u won't cause anyone to get injured. =)

actually, quite the opposite is true... when you make "ballistic" ; or fast movements with free weights, they gain momentum. Aside from the many dangers and resulting injuries sustained from lifting too fast (which usually promotes poor form) you end up lifting less weight and engaging less muscle fibers because of the momentum. smooth, controlled movements are best. not tai-chi slow lifts, and not "ballistic" ; fast lifts.
