I am Steve Turano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. People are asking about liposuction. Now, I am not a doctor but let me give you up the information that I know based on the results that I have seen and based on common sense. Now, there are advances that are occurring all the time in medical technology. And there are some advances occurring in my perception using lasers. They haven’t been perfected yet but they are offering lots of promising results. But here is something to think about. When you eat a certain number of calories or essentially you overeat you have a calorie surplus. Those calories are spread over all the fat cells all over your body. Now, when you have liposuction and you remove those fat cells, you don’t change your eating habits, those additional calories that you eat are now spread over fewer fat cells in fewer areas of your body. This means that people will begin to get fat in strange areas. Guys begin to get fat on their chest, in their face, women get fatter in other areas if additional fat is taken out of the hips and the thighs. So, this is something you have to be aware of. I’m all for plastic surgery, absolutely. But you have got to remember this. If you remove additional fat, that additional calories will have a smaller area to be spread out of. Let me give an example. Let us say you have a huge table and you start laying stuff out on this table. The stuff would not be really thick but it will be spread out. If you have a smaller table which had the same amount of stuff. That stuff is going to be spread over a smaller area and essentially, it will be piled higher so it will be more noticeable. The same thing occurs with liposuction. Love your body.
