Logic Studio: How To Convert Audio into an EXS24 Instrument

Hi this is Stoni! Welcome to WinkSound.com. I’ve got a bunch of new videos coming to you using Logic9. In this take, we’re going to talk about converting audio samples and wav and chopping them up and creating an instrument, an EXS instrument inside of Logic9. You have your sounds and you want to go in and you want to make MIDI tracks out of the audio. So I’m going to walk you though it.

We’re going to highlight—the I had here and then we’re going to go up here to the audio section. And we’re going to choose convert regions to new sampler track. So we’re going to highlight that, you could either choose regions or choose transient markers. With the transient markers, it automatically chops up your high hats in whatever audio you’re using in the track. And once you hit OK Logic automatically creates a sampler instrument for you and it also includes all your MIDI notes and arrangements of that particular high hat and how the MIDI notes movements were going.

And that’s how you create your sampler instrument inside the Logic9.
