Jay Manuel: I want to teach you how to do an everyday five minute phase that I think everyone woman should know how to do literally, you know how you go in, hopefully you brushed your teeth in the morning, okay, when your teeth.
Mo McGrath: Yes, I can do that.
Jay Manuel: You should be able to when you spit it out. You know wipe it off, do a quick phase, just take five extra minutes, I know you like to sleep in, you told me that before, just get up five minutes earlier please.
Mo McGrath: I can do five minute.
Jay Manuel: Ready to time it, we can time it on my watch.
Mo McGrath: Yeah, let’s do it, let’s do it.
Jay Manuel: Well the first thing, you got to start moisturizing these lips.
Mo McGrath: I try.
Jay Manuel: Okay, you wanted a really great trick?
Mo McGrath: Yeah. What?
Jay Manuel: When you’re in the shower in the morning and you’re washing, doyou use a wash cloth?
Mo McGrath: No.
Jay Manuel: Okay.
Mo McGrath: Loofer.
Jay Manuel: Okay, loofer, well, just have a washcloth handy.
Mo McGrath: Okay.
Jay Manuel: You take it over your lips. Don’t scrub, just go over your lips just with water, it exfoliates the lips and then when you get out of the shower, just put some lip balm on. Your lips would be smoother, they won’t looked chopped and they won’t look dry.
The key of picking the right color foundation, is if you use it on this area of the face just like, put it like a swatch test and you can’t see it, that means, it’s working. Now I know that sounds weird but a lot of women go into the stores and then like, ‘oh I can’t see it,’ they go to the next shade either lighter or darker. Remember, foundation’s supposed to match your skin, so if it goes invisible, that means, it works.
So what I’m going to do is I’m applying it a little heavier underneath your eyes and then we’re just going to blend outwards. Now I want to still see your freckles when we’re. But what I’m going to do is just literally because we put the moisturizer in with the foundation, it’s going to allow your own skin to come through and you’ve got great skin so we don’t want to cover it all up. A little on your chin just to get rid off the redness, just a middle of the forehead.
The other thing, especially with eye shadow, if you put a little foundation on your lids, it blended in, it will help grab the eye shadow a lot better.
Bronzer is the most under used product in everybody’s kit, they think it’s just for summer. You take bronzer all over your face. Well actually, when you even out the skin, you want to bring that dimension back to the face that is, those natural low lights that are inherit in our skin. So all I’m going to do is take a little bronzer. I’m just going to take it along your hairline and just down the side of your cheekbone a little bit but since you’ve got great eyebrows, all I’m going to do is take a clear brow gel and push them up.
The reason we’re pushing them up is to keep, kind of exaggerate the arch a little and we want to align the hair area, orientation all in one, kind of direction. It makes the brows look fuller and neater and more groomed. All right.
Now notice, I’m not doing anything complex with the brush. All I’m doing is taking this pink shadow and just washing it all over your lid from your lash line, kind of to the top. Do you feel it there? What would you call that? It’s not really, you don’t really have a creased eye but I would call it, like the top your eye ball.
Now I’m going to take the same color. Literally I’m just smudging it right all the way underneath your eye.
We’re going to use this cream blush and all we’re going to do is smile, we’re going to put it right on the apple of cheek. You know where your apple is cheek is? Exactly.
So we’re just going to put a like a dot right there. I’m just going to just blush your apple. If you start and out a lip stain on your lips first and then follow with a gloss. As the gloss wears off, if you have stain on underneath, your lips would kind of wear a lot longer. Smile.
So all we’re doing is just kind of staining your lips, it’s very easy. Now I’m going to have you do the last step. Grab that out of my hand, click the back, click the button, it’s not that hard, again. Okay now, just put some on your lips. Feeling more aggressive? You like it?
Mo McGrath: I do.
Jay Manuel: Really?
Mo McGrath: I mean, I don’t look like myself, I look like.
Jay Manuel: Actually you do look like your self, you just look like a little like, someone who just pops out of the crowd a little bit but not too much. You said you wanted that attention. You wanted that attention but you didn’t want to kind of stand out center stage. I think your lips just right. Okay?
