2010 Jaguar XF Review
Liam Lusk: Big culture really looks like.
Carl Kwan: I know what it looks like.
Liam Lusk: True?
Carl Kwan: I’m sure you know it looks like. It’s a car.
Liam Lusk: But the new model is different.
Carl Kwan: Significantly different or?
Liam Lusk: Yeah, the light is different. Yeah. It actually looks a little bit different.
Carl Kwan: But it’s still the same car.
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: Okay. And okay anyway, that’s fine. So what car are we talking about?
Liam Lusk: Jaguar XF.
Carl Kwan: So we’re going to talk about the Jaguar XF this week. Where do Jaguar come from?
Liam Lusk: You had to ask that question, didn’t you, Carl? Well, it’s from the UK originally.
Carl Kwan: Okay. Yes.
Liam Lusk: But of course now it’s made by Tata, an Indian.
Carl Kwan: No? Seriously it’s made by the Indian company.
Liam Lusk: Their own Dracula.
Carl Kwan: That’s sad actually.
Liam Lusk: It is sad because I -- nothing against India.
Carl Kwan: Tata, I mean yeah.
Liam Lusk: Yeah, and nothing against Tata or India but I think I mean when a car is bought, when a car company is bought by a large company it kind of takes away from it a little bit.
Carl Kwan: So do you think that in India something is taken away because it’s from a BMW?
Liam Lusk: Well, it’s not the original meaning anymore.
Carl Kwan: Well, no. And you can’t expect its meaning.
Liam Lusk: You know but better to improve it, BMW has improved the engine.
Carl Kwan: Okay.
Liam Lusk: But I think in a Jaguar which was originally bought by Ford.
Carl Kwan: Right.
Liam Lusk: And became --
Carl Kwan: We know how well that went.
Liam Lusk: Yeah, it became a production car.
Carl Kwan: Right.
Liam Lusk: Rather an individual car.
Carl Kwan: Right.
Liam Lusk: Too good to me.
Carl Kwan: Right, it wasn’t special anymore.
Liam Lusk: Yeah. And also the Jaguar changed it looks completely as well.
Carl Kwan: Well, I mean there still this term traditional Jaguar style, isn’t there?
Liam Lusk: No.
Carl Kwan: There aren’t anymore? The XF is the only style we have now.
Liam Lusk: Well, no. I mean if they have the other ones but what I’m saying is you know, as the cars move on.
Carl Kwan: Okay.
Liam Lusk: The style is changing.
Carl Kwan: Well, it’s evolving.
Liam Lusk: It’s evolving.
Carl Kwan: I know I stand there. I’ve evolved.
Liam Lusk: I wouldn’t call that evolution, you know. I will call that back in evolution and if there is such a thing. By then --
Carl Kwan: It’s the evolution then.
Liam Lusk: There’s no jumping cat on the bowl anymore.
Carl Kwan: There’s no jumping cat anymore.
Liam Lusk: No.
Carl Kwan: You still put a cat on there if you wanted to.
Liam Lusk: I guess you could.
Carl Kwan: Even the neighbor’s cat probably.
Liam Lusk: I guess. But you know the jumping cat on the bar of the Jaguar is always the thing.
Carl Kwan: No, sure. Yeah, sure. No need the key chain with the jumping cat too?
Liam Lusk: I guess you can.
Carl Kwan: But no, I think you can get the keychain going by the car. Anyway whatever. Anyway, so what do you think of the style of the new XF?
Liam Lusk: Well, actually I do like it.
Carl Kwan: You do?
Liam Lusk: I do like it. You know, I think what you see, you know cars evolved, and cars move on, and so you got to go with the times.
Carl Kwan: Right, exactly.
Liam Lusk: You know it’s a great car. It’s had good ratings.
Carl Kwan: Has it?
Liam Lusk: Yeah, it handles very well.
Carl Kwan: Well, it looks really sporty. I mean for a Jaguar, it looks pretty nice.
Liam Lusk: Right, absolutely.
Carl Kwan: For Jaguar, it looks very nice.
Liam Lusk: And I don’t know for those of you, if you advertise and need to those be watched up gear. It did well on the track.
Carl Kwan: Really?
Liam Lusk: It did very well on the track.
Carl Kwan: I’m surprise. What car did they beat?
Liam Lusk: It did so well, I can’t remember but anyway --
Carl Kwan: Okay, anyway.
Liam Lusk: But you know they did do well. So it handles well, you know for big -- this is a big car.
Carl Kwan: Yes, how about that? You know it’s not so big. It’s not as big as the Audi A8 that we reviewed the last time.
Liam Lusk: No.
Carl Kwan: It’s not quite big as that.
Liam Lusk: No, but it is a big car, you know.
Carl Kwan: Right.
Liam Lusk: Big cars usually filling a hundred of it speed don’t they?
Carl Kwan: Yeah, exactly.
Liam Lusk: But in this one have those one.
Carl Kwan: Wow! So what’s the pricing one of those?
Liam Lusk: Well, I actually don’t know for sure. I did investigate this while I’ve forgotten.
Carl Kwan: So the other significant question is if we have this far --
Liam Lusk: Oh, I think it’s about $60,000.00.
Carl Kwan: $60,000.00?
Liam Lusk: Dollars.
Carl Kwan: At dollars which is not bad.
Liam Lusk: But I could be wrong. I could be wrong. So let’s check that.
Carl Kwan: Okay, well, it’s probably wrong. But anyway--
Liam Lusk: Why am I even here?
Carl Kwan: I don’t know why.
Liam Lusk: And getting your butt and exact.
Carl Kwan: So what color would you get?
Liam Lusk: Well, that’s an interesting question because it start full that you see around silver.
Carl Kwan: Right, right, exactly.
Liam Lusk: Almost starts Ford is the same group but I kind of like bottle green to be on this.
Carl Kwan: You want the bottle green.
Liam Lusk: I like bottle green.
Carl Kwan: Okay, bottle green. Well, I have seen bottle green.
Liam Lusk: Bottle green because it’s kind of nice way for me.
Carl Kwan: Bottle green cars are made. They’re be bottle green and just can be booger green made it bottle to me.
Liam Lusk: A booger green and bottle green are different.
Carl Kwan: They’re very similar actually.
Liam Lusk: No, they’re different.
Carl Kwan: Are they?
Liam Lusk: They’re different.
Carl Kwan: Okay.
Liam Lusk: Bottle greens are dark green.
Carl Kwan: Some boogers dark too. Anyway --
Liam Lusk: Evolution.
Carl Kwan: Evolution, exactly. Anyway, so would you actually want to buy one? If you had $60,000.00 today, would you buy one?
Liam Lusk: Without hesitation.
Carl Kwan: Without hesitation? Seriously?
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: Okay, okay, you like it that much. I know.
Liam Lusk: I’m a Jag man.
Carl Kwan: Okay, you are Jag man.
Liam Lusk: I’ve used this before.
Carl Kwan: That’s right. You are a Jag man. Anyway, so what would you give it as a rating?
Liam Lusk: I would actually -- well, you know I do like Jags. That’s the thing.
Carl Kwan: Yeah.
Liam Lusk: I’m a bit smitten with them. So judging from where I’ve read about foremost write-ups I’d actually go eight and a half.
Carl Kwan: Seriously?
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: So, you know, I’m not a huge fan of Jags so I think it’s the most old man’s cars.
Liam Lusk: I think if you saw and this one and you drove it you’d think different.
Carl Kwan: Well, I have seen some young guys, you know all some cool looking young guys and very similar to myself who have been driving these cars and they do look kind of cool in them. I might look cooler. I don’t know about it but they do look like cool. So, yeah, a black one for me if I were you.
Liam Lusk: Oh, you do black.
Carl Kwan: I like the black in the Jag.
Liam Lusk: You could be a black thing.
Carl Kwan: Yes, in the Jaguar with black.
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: Yeah, I do have with a black one with it.
Liam Lusk: So what would you give to them?
Carl Kwan: I still give it a seven probably because I choose other cars over it.
Liam Lusk: Okay, for you know --
Carl Kwan: Yeah, I choose others cars over it. Has it there been in a movie?
Liam Lusk: I don’t believe the XF has.
Carl Kwan: Have any Jags ever been into movies?
Liam Lusk: Yeah, there were in the -- what was that James Bond movie the one with the ice hotel?
Carl Kwan: Oh, yeah, right. That’s right. It was --
Liam Lusk: The XJR.
Carl Kwan: The “Die Another Day” one.
Liam Lusk: I think it was XJR they had it.
Carl Kwan: Right, I think that was a convertible.
Liam Lusk: Yeah, and they like --
Carl Kwan: Run XJR then the XTR.
Liam Lusk: And they did a ridiculous thing. It flipped over and then he get hit the fully cover on its roof he did to eject seat to flip back again.
Carl Kwan: That’s fantastic. I’m getting that.
Liam Lusk: And it was that -- I think there was a BMW or not saying it would be.
Carl Kwan: There was a BMW in that and I think it was Aston Martin in that one.
Liam Lusk: I believe, maybe they had all three. Not one.
Carl Kwan: They can have all three. Okay, anyway. Yeah, so let’s wrap it up then. Anyway, so I give it about seven, you gave it about an eight and half.
Liam Lusk: And you forgot the big one, so I just have to say this is The Saint.
Carl Kwan: The Saint, oh, that’s right -- okay.
Liam Lusk: That will be a nice car.
Carl Kwan: Okay. Now that was nice. It seems it’s actually good show and that was actually cool.
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: The Saint, the TV show you’re talking about with Roger Moore or the movie.
Liam Lusk: That’s right.
Carl Kwan: Okay.
Liam Lusk: Fortunately, we have a white XJS.
Carl Kwan: Okay, okay. Because I think in the movie he drove a Volvo, didn’t he?
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: And that was stupid. Anyway --
Liam Lusk: Yeah.
Carl Kwan: Okay, thank you very much for paying attention, kind of ramble a little bit there but anyway, let us know what you think about the Jag XF and if you want to buy one, what do you think of it, if you think it’s some old men’s car like I do, or what would you get instead? Alright?
Liam Lusk: Yeah, I do. And if you want another review let us know what are your thoughts.
Carl Kwan: Yeah, exactly. And you have one of these and you want us to try it for you to test out, view my point as an old men’s car, then please do so.
Liam Lusk: Check out my email.
Carl Kwan: Thanks a lot, bye-bye.
Liam Lusk: Bye-bye.
