I am Steve Terrano, welcome to section of Body Performance
I received this question a lot,
Are you single?
Yes!
Single, never married, no kids.
But that is not important right now.
I received the second question a lot,
Can I lift weights in become muscular while I am loosing weight and creating calorie deficit?
And the answer is, absolutely!
Now, you cannot do this if you are an elite athlete, trained for years and years and you are performing in a very high level, and your body fat levels are very, very low.
But then again, that is only 1/10 or 1% of America.
The average person can certainly create a calorie deficit and work out and become more muscular. Here is one,
Remember, 67% of the calories that we burned up through out the day are burn from simple metabolic activities. Thinking, heart beating, cell replacement, things in that nature.
The other 15% are digesting; the other last 15% are simply through movement or activity.
So, you can create a calorie deficit; use the body fat that you have as a stored energy while still becoming more muscular.
Because remember: becoming muscular is not function of eating, it is function of working out.
So while we are loosing weight, you certainly can overwork and stress the muscles through your weight lifting, causing and become bigger and stronger while at the same time, loosing body fat, simply because you are using that body fat as an energy source, as a fuel source.
So remember: it is the working up the causes you to become muscular, it is the calorie deficit that causes fat loss.
Love your body.
