Loving Your Body

See your body as the passport to the new you. Your body is not the barrier to a new life, it is the way forward. It’s so ironic that hating yourself for being overweight, probably the main reason you stay that way. That’s why nurturing yourself is so important, or you’ll never end the cycle of self-defeat. You need to work on being your own best friend instead of your own worst enemy. And remember, you may feel right now that you’d like a body transplant but ask your body and it probably feels, all it needs is a brain transplant and you're body would look like a million dollars in just a few months. You still have the body you had as a baby. It was cute and cuddly once and it can be again. But just like an old car, it’s going to need a lot of TLC to get it purring.

It’s amazing but we quite happily spend a fortune on our cars and houses to keep them up to scratch. But we don’t put in anything like the same investment in our bodies. Yet without them, we’re nothing. For many it takes the shock of a scary diagnosis to jump start a respect for our bodies, don’t wait for that sort of thing to happen. Respect your body now. Put some time in it. Give it an MOT.
