Hey guys, this is Ren for Make up by Ren Ren and today I’ll be doing a look using Dame Edna’s Wisteria Trio. So if you’re interested in watching more, stay tuned for more.
Okay let’s get started, so I’m going to do this eye and I already have everything else on except for this eye. So I have on the Make Up Forever HD Foundation in number 128, which I thought was too light but now it works for me because it’s a winter. On my cheeks, I have Bobbi Brown blush in Peony, which is really pretty. And in my lips I have lip Chai looks lip gloss because I didn’t have—get any colors from the Dame Edna collection and this was kind of similar to the coral lip—coral colored lip glass. So let me go ahead and show you, I want to use the Wisteria Eye Trio, which is like a grayish blue with the blue shimmers kind of color. A sky blue color and both of these are velvets. This is Divine Night, this is Wisteria and then very fine shine is a Wisteria.
And as you can see this is what it looks like and this is nice because it has a mirror so that’s great and the box looks like this, nice. So let’s go ahead and get started. Go ahead and apply your base, I want to use pure white Chromaline and I’m just going to use my ring finger and just pat it on the lid mainly to get the most coverage on the lid and then I’m going to blend it up. Wear it quickly because it tends to dry really quickly. You see, you get a nice even coverage and try to go a little bit under too. So next you’re going to apply the color to the lid. I’m using my 239 brush, the brand new one I just got and then I’m going to use a light blue color which is called Wisteria, which is right in the middle. Pat it on with the 239 because you’re going to want to get as much color as you can. And I’m just going to start patting the color on the lid using patting lotion, so that tell you’ll get the most color pair off. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but it’s okay. It’s not the best collection ever but the colors apply really easily. You just have to kind of work with them. There’s a one Luster which I don’t like, luster is—the other two are velvet so it’s okay.
So you can see I’m patting it on all over the lid down to the last side up a little bit above the crease. I put mine a little bit above the crease just because my eyelid shape is a little bit small. But if you have deep lid eyes, just go up to the crease. Now we’re going to take this color which is the grey with blue shimmers, Divine Night. I’m going to take my 217 brush and swirl it, tap off the excess then I’m going to do the outer V shape and then do circle motion to kind of get the color on there and then we’re going to bring it into the crease, like that. So go ahead and apply a little bit more. These aren’t like super bright colors but they’re easy to control and they blend really nice so just start light and just keep on applying color gradually.
And now we’re going to go ahead and take this, whatever brush, this is the 272 and I’m going to take the Fine Shine which is old grey luster. Tap off the excess because it’s a luster so it’s kind of glittering, it has a little bit fall out. Then I’m going to use the edge of the brush like—that way I can slightly blend out the grey like that, just to have a nice blend in mine and a little bit of sheen and then I’m just going to bring it up into the highlights area underneath the brow bone. And I’m also going to take some tap off excess and put it right here, tear duct and then go up. So you will have nice blending out with edges everywhere.
Okay, now we’re going to take the tiny little brushes, one of my favorites, it’s a Loew-Cornell ¼ inch Maxine’s mop and dip into the blue and just trace underneath your lash line using like the very tip of the brush, so that way, you get a small line. And go about 2/3 in and there, I’m going to take the same brush and dip in the darker grey color and then I’m just going to complete the rest of it. I’m just going to bring it up to the outer V shape and make sure their colors blend together, just kind of sweep them into each other like that. Then I’m going to use the MAC Rapid Black Penultimate Liner, which I really like because I am a liquid liner girl. Then I’m going to line—this is a really good because the color is really black, which I like. I’m going to do cat eye, so I’m just going to start on the outside and do the little wing and then you come back to it. Make sure to get all the little gaps, it looks like that. Okay, and then on the lower line like I always do, I’m going to take a smolder eye cool and just do the lower line. If you want it that to stay, put some black eye shadow over to set it.
And then this is another little trick, I don’t know if you can see it on camera, but I have glitter on this eye, you can move my eye around. You might not be able to see it but it adds a little bit of a pretty effect on the—collection we had with—but I don’t have that. I just have Reflex Pearl Glitter from MAC and this is how I’m going to apply it. So what I do is I take the bottle and shake it, so that way I can get some on the lid and then I take a synthetic brushes, this is one from A Design. And I take, this is EZR, Eye-Zone Remoisturizer from MAC. It’s a MAC Pro item and it’s just like a kind of sticky gloss but it’s for your eyes and it’s great for applying glitter. So I put a little bit on my hand, the back of my hand right here and then I’m going to take my brush and wet it. You only need like a drop and then I’m going to take the glitter, the Reflex Pearl and I’m going to collect some glitter on my brush like that and then I’m just going to dab it on top of the blue. Just dab it, the easier—I just mix it like—that glitter right here, so it doesn’t mess with the color on you eyes already. So I don’t know if you can see that, but that’s the way it looks. It’s just very subtle in person and looks really pretty. It almost like a glitter eye shadow, so now I’m going to throw on some lashes and I’ll be right back.
Okay, so I got my lashes on, these are MAC Number 10s, which are a Pro lash and I’m almost done. I just wanted to show the second thing I got, which is the What a Dame! Highlight Powder. This is the box and this is the packaging, I know some of you guys have kind of complained about the stickers but it is what it is. I just kind of wanted to get the packaging, so this one also is a compact and it comes with a sponge, and it has a shimmery like glitter layer on top. Underneath it’s a MAC powder, which I don’t mind. People have said that they don’t like that but I like the MAC powder better than the shimmer powdering, so I’m going to be going when the shimmer powder is done. This is actually a really smooth MAC powder underneath, so I’m going to use this as a highlighter and I have blush on already, so I’m just going to sweep my 168 brush on top.
This is like a peachy pink highlighter and I’m just going to apply it right here on top of my cheekbones. And it’s a very subtle MAC highlighter which I really like. This is just to give my cheekbones a little bit of a pop and then I’m going to put it down the center of nose, to make the bridge of my nose pop a little bit more and right on the middle of my eyebrows and right on my chin. Well it’s actually, the cover’s not chalky at all, it’s really smooth and it’s a good highlighter like a MAC one for a subtle look, for contouring and shaping. And that’s it, that’s the look from the Dame Edna Collection, the Wisteria Trio. So I hope you guys enjoyed and thanks for watching!
