Hey guys, it’s Ren for Make Up by RenRen and I went to the MAC Pro store and I got you great bunch of goodies and I want to show them with you, so if you want to see my MAC Pro Haul, stay tune for more!
Okay guys, so I went down for Christmas to Orlando on my annual Christmas trip to visit my parents and of course I had to stop by the MAC Pro store because I just want to swatch and see for products in person before I get them and prefer to do that rather than on online. So I go every time I visit my parents and I want to show you all the goodies that I got, let’s go ahead and get started because there are a bunch of stuff. I got two pairs of lashes, two of each and this is from the Lash Bar Collection that just released. I got the two lashes out of the five that were actually limited, others were not, they’re permanent. So I’m going to them to you. This one is called the MAC, it’s the number 32 Lash and it’s really funky cat-eye dramatic lash in black, so this is going to be crazy fun for like a dramatic look or a shoot. So if you see this one here, this one was really popular, so get that if you want it now before it’s sold out. And the next limited edition, one was called Blinking, cool exclamation mark. So this is another lash and it looks kind of like Ardell Wispies, there’s a lot of space between the bend which will make it very natural and the color of the lashes are actually a mix between brown and black. So that’s even more natural and I think that these would look hot on very natural wispie and flirty, but they could also be flipped over and worn on the bottom and look super cool too, so that’s awesome. Those are the two lashes I got.
And when I was there I also picked up the infamous new Chromaline and I got pure white. I didn’t get any of the other colors. I just got two pure whites. So I can have one for me and one for my kit. And the consistency is a little bit different than—I would say. It’s a little bit more—it’s not as creamy, it’s a little bit more dry and you have to work fast with it, but they go on really smooth and really pigmented and I use this as my new base for eye shadows because everybody knows that if you put colors on top of white, they’re really going to pop. It’s like drawing on whitepaper that’s you know, colors really pop on there so this is an eye-safe color. The black, the white and the marine blue colors are the only eye-safe ones, so you can use this as the base for your eyes. Just work with them quickly because they kind of dry fast coloring MAC paints, but they’re crease proof, waterproof and so far I like them. I use them on these eyes today and they make a really great base for everybody. So if you’re looking for a base to make your eye shadows pop, it also is a crease proof, this is it, pure white. If I really like them to apply, I’m going to blend them more and the pure black one was nice. It’s actually blacker than the lash I put on mine in my opinion, so once I run out of my five million different black gel liners, I’ll probably look into that one. So that’s that.
Then I picked up a lipglass and a lip gloss, and I wanted to get something for myself, which was a new lip combo, but a lot of new lip gloss are kind of too light for me. I think because I’m more tan, I need more pigment in my—because my lips are pigmented, so the make up artist recommended me Sis which is a pro color and Chai to wear on top of each other. So this new color has a little bit more brown in it, it’s right there and I have swatches on my blog that I’m going to post of all these colors. And then Chai is a popular lip gloss, which I didn’t have but it’s also like a beigey brown. So instead of me having to apply my new lip color is like really sparingly like—like I was doing before. This is a good combination for more tan skin I would say, and the MC-42 so that gives you a reference. This is really a great combo and this is a satin lipstick just so you know.
Next, I picked up some color corrector that I’ve been looking to get this for a really long time. These are the Studio Finish color correctors that released a couple may be like two months ago and I got four, so that way I could fit them in a quad to be nice and organize. So basically color correctors, they correct color on my skin, which is a little bit different than concealers, which kind of cover our things up, but this change the—like problem areas like under-eye circles. And the way I kind to understand that is if you look at the color chart and as you can see that it’s like a wheel of colors and if you look opposite of the colors. It tells you what they kind of correct. So for example, if you look at red, it’s across of green, the green is going to conceal the red. If you look at orange, this is a popular concealer color, it’s going to conceal blue, like blue under-eye circles and that—this concept is the same for actually complimentary color. So orange and blue next to each other looks really pretty, but they also conceal you know if they’re paired on top of each other they cancels them out.
So I’m going to show you which ones I got, first stuff I’ve got opera, much as a sealer color right here, and it’s really great for concealing purple. So if you have purple here or if you have purple bruises here, it’s good. Next, I got terra cotta, it looks really dark brown but actually reddish color, check out my blog for swatches, and this is really great to conceal greens. So if you have like a tattoo with black green ink, this is what a lot of make up artist will use to kind of erase the edges and just put on and blend out the edges and put whatever tattoo cover on top. This is also great for really darker skin tones like really dark with like bluish tones because now it’s hard to find good correctors and concealers for that skin tone, this is good as well. Next is kind of similar, and as you guys know, the whole—on this thing is like awesome for doing on under-eye circles for women of color. So the first one on top is called burnt coral, which is a lighter bit—a lighter than this one, this one is caramel. So this one would be for like tan women of color but they’re on the white, like light African-Americans or light Middle Eastern with under-eye circles and this is fair little bit darker. So this work for basically correcting—I’m going to use it mainly for correcting under here or tattoos or bruises or anything like that. So they are like the exact same consistency of this Studio Finish Correctors, concealers, but they’re correctors. If you’re looking for that, this is awesome because I’m like obsessed with making sure under-eye circles are corrected because it just kind of brightens up your whole face if you know how to conceal them correctly. And a lot people will put just the concealer and you can still see that tinge of shadow underneath, like you can see grayish green underneath of that because they’re not correcting them, so Studio Finish Correctors.
I also picked up another corrector and it’s not in this palette, this one is a light green. This is actually a discontinued item but the MAC Pro was super nice and she recommended it to me and they had one left. It’s a color corrector in green, looks just like the Select Cover-Up concealers and there was a green one like this, but I got this one instead because a lot of times I do fair clients, fair skin clients and they have a lot of redness right here. So this one could be more appropriate because it’s like it has more in it, but the green corrects the red and you’ll put a very small layer of this on thick, thin layer and when I use this, I haven’t try it yet, but I’ll let you know how I like it and green corrects red. So that’s that, maybe there’ll be some extras left at the Pro store if you ask for them or if you ask the—call the MAC Pro a lot or whatever.
So the last thing I got was a new blush palette, and inside it I actually got, a bunch of shaping and sculpting powders. So I’m really big into contouring, look on my blog, the before and after looks so dramatic because of the contouring that I do and it’s great for photography as well. So I have three of these sculpting patterns and I want to take up the other two just so that way I would be prepared for like any skin tone. And this one is called Bone Beige and it’s like the lightest one, it’s a little bit lighter than sculpt which is you know good so that way I can go for that really light skin tone. And this one is actually more peachy kind of rosy colored than the sculpt and this will look great on fair skin tones. And then this one is actually my new favorite contour pattern for myself, I was using Shadester. I think Shadester is a little bit too tan to be a contour color for me. This is a mat brownish—grayish brown, which is really good if you actually will mix the shadows. So a rule of thumb is that when you’re contouring, you want to pick a color that’s opposite from your undertone. Since I’m more warm, I’ll go on the cool side which is like this MAC grayish, cool tone brown, so if you’re cool, go for the warm side because then you’re going to really get that contrast of contour color. So this is my new favorite, works really good.
So then the top three were actually shaping powders which are for highlighting and you want to pick one, if you’re really going to contour and highlight, you’re going to pick something that’s not too shimmery, because sometimes that can give you an oddly look and it doesn’t really pop as much as in MAC colors. These are kind of MAC with a little bit of a sheen and I got three colors from light, medium to darker skin tones and that way I could kind of—I could branch out from using just MSFs and foundation and pick something that I know that’s going to look good. So this one is called Accentuate, so I emphasize, this will look great on paler skin tone. It’s got creamy whitish color, this one is called Accentuate, emphasize on accentuate. This is peachy for the middle range tan, I use this one on me just so you know, just so you get an idea. The last one is Self Focus, which is a really pretty golden yellowish color, it should be great for darker skin tones and of course you know, you’ve got to play with it, play it lighter, darker depending on you know the skin tone. But these are really great, I’m applying—to contour it in highlighting video because I’ve got a lot of questions about it on my blog which you should read, read that blog, MakeupByRenRen.com. I update it like Monday through Friday religiously.
So I have a lot of stuff on there and if you’re trying to wait between videos which I’m posting now, every Monday and Wednesday the blog is something great to check out. So that’s my MAC Pro Haul.
