Mac Tip: How To Control Your Mac With Just an Apple Remote

Hi! In this video I am going to be talking about application called Sofa control. Here is the application, and you can use your remote and your Mac and you can use this to control your computer, you can do anything on it. So first I will launch Sofa control and if you use the demo, you can only use it for tiny seconds, so I will do it later. Okay, so now if I press menu, there will be those applications I choose it will come out, so I can just choose and press it again, it goes back at that host menu, you your site global menu and choose script or sound volume, front row, expose, open dashboard, virtual mouse, power, and all these things. So I can use the mouse just by going to virtual mouse models or choose a application like this, so now I can move my mouse, so you can see my mouse is moving. Now I am going to a dark and can you see it dark. My real mouse is right there and here is my remote and if I hold down this button, I hold it, it will show some mouse. My mouse is yellow, so you cannot see there. So now I am going to open an application. I am going to Safari. Now I will go to YouTube, I have it here in bookmark, so I can just click it, so I will go to search, and now I will go to my menu press it, I am using a menu button and you press it and choose script. And now I will go to the keyboard, the ABC, so now I will choose, numbers, letters or lowercase or punctuation, I will go to letters and I am going to type in my YouTube account t-e-r-r-y-c-p-i-a-n-o and now I just click and see. I will go back, so as you can see, cpiano on YouTube, can you see it? Okay, so now I will go type again, so I will just hold down this menu button and you hold it and now hold it. Script and go to my keyboard, letters, and I will go to the C-P-E...NO. Now, I just finished typing and I have turn mouse on, so I hope this bought it. And, now I will hold it again, so I can see where is my mouse and there you go. Now, we will go to search, now it is searching, now there is it. I will go to my cam, go to the my account and if I would not quit, create this application, I will just go here. So here, I will click the X. So now let us try Photo Booth, choose script, Photo Booth and now photo booth is browsing and there it is, so I can just a picture. So I will first – I need to surf my control, so for all of these applications and there I have them all but I hope I do hold this support all these applications. So I will start from VLC or mouse, mail, transmission, safari, QuickTime, preview, Microsoft is now on your PowerPoint, photo booth, micro, keynote, iTunes, iPhoto, iChat, iCal, Guess number, Google Earth, Finder, Garage Band, Front Row, Firefox, DVD Player, Contacts, Automator, Airfoil, Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat Professional, ABC, and in Adobe Reader you can just press right or left to go your next page. And, I am going to do a tour my room, so there is my desk and I am not gong to show you the rest of my room, because I am going to show you the bathroom. So that is my Apple G4, actually it is not mine, it is mine school’s. And it is weird they do not have a ram in it. There it is to 256 ram, I will open the iBooth then there is nothing there.
