Hi! I’m Tim, Tricks in Motion, my stage name. Today I want to show you an awesome trick using three household items. One, a dollar bill, any denomination bill, dollars probably easy to get and two paperclips, the bigger the better and if they're metal versus the plastic ones, even better. All you do is take your dollar and then fold it into thirds. Then place one separate paperclip into the dollar another one on the opposite side. Clipping the dollar’s flaps together but if I say some magic words, and pull on the sides of the dollar, a little blow on it, and pull real hard, the paper clips actually link in the air. This is called the linking paper clips using a paper this size or a dollar. And all you do -- to show you that, how it’s done, this is a trick that works automatically.
First you unlink the paper clips. Show that they're separate. Again, the bigger the better, its more visible. The metal paperclips, you borrow. A dollar, use your own and you're going to fold it in thirds in this manner. So when you're looking at it, you see an “S” shape, “S” letter or a five, there’s a top flap, the middle and a bottom flap. You can crease it. So again, let’s fold it in thirds. You take the first separate paperclip and you're going to go link or clip, the way it clips is used on paper. The top flap to the middle and push it flushed or all the way in. You now have loosed the bottom flap of your “S” that you made. And you take that last paperclip, you're going to clip bottom flap to the middle section. And push it flushed. One clip is on the right side holding it together the top flap and the middle. One clip is on the left side, holding together the bottom flap to the middle. And if you just, again, your showing how they're separate and you hold and pull both ends of that dollar bill, holding it in this position as the paperclips are pointing vertically. You pull and with more motion it actually will go higher or if you pull harder and that went very far, very high and linked and they linked -- would seem to be on their way up in flight but its actually linking as you're pulling the dollar, pulling the paperclips together, pushing them together rather and they link but it comes out and off and shoots as if it linked in the air.
That is the linking paperclips using a dollar bill. Thank you.
