Victoria: Victoria Stiles here for Beyond Beauty Basics and Style Coalition outside the Chelsea Art Museum for Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Fall 2010. I’m going to go backstage at Catherine Malandrino here at the museum to interview key artist for the show, Tom Pecheux for MAC Cosmetics along with key hairstylist Odile Gilbert.
I’m with Beyond Beauty Basics and I just wanted to see exactly what you have going on here backstage at Catherine Malandrino.
Tom: Backstage, we our traveling. We are going to that part of the world, Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet. We’ve got 37 models, some are Asian. So they do have the feature of those people from those countries. Definitely, we got also blonde who does not have that feature. So, what we are creating with makeup is at high-very high cheeks that look people are. We are putting makeup under the eyes with the black pencil inside the eyes. We extend everything on the outside front of the eye to give that Asian eye, very long and thin.
The eyebrow, we try to, without bleaching or anything, to dramatic. We give to the eyebrow kind of a trek line to about the wing with typical white people. And the lip, it's a very tough new color that we modify.
Victoria: I heard that it was Folio from Mac, is that correct?
Tom: Correct. Yes.
Victoria: I hear that it’s actually one of Angelina Jolie’s favorite lipstick color.
Tom: It's very nice because it does give a finish, but it's nothing too obvious. It's a beautiful color.
Victoria: Great, thank you so much.
Tom: And I know Angelina liked it but she loved those countries.
