I would like to share something with you until you can travel and get away to a great human get away. I want to show you how simple and inexpensive it is to prepare your own aroma therapy bath salts right in your own home. First that you are going have to do is save those jars. You want to save those jelly jars and many jars. Okay. They wash out very nicely in the dishwasher. Then you gave to get salt. You can use sea salt or kosher salt. I will select to use rock salt because of the texture. And do not worry about it. It will dissolve in water quite nicely. And then you are going to need essential oils. I like to get a 100% pure essential oils. A lot of the oils that you find in health good stores are not really 100% pure. You should check the label.
This is lavender. Eucalyptus, I have find is really great to use if I feel like I am just about to come down with the cold. This one is orange. I am just using orange purely for the yummy fragrance. So, what you do is you just take about 20 drops of the essential oil. Lavender is very calming. It is good to take at night when you want to relax and go to sleep and you should put 20 drops in. It is about 20. You know it vary, some people like it a little stronger. Some people do not. You shake it up. Close it tightly, shake it up and set it aside for about two hours. And in two hours when you open it up, you will have the most incredible aroma therapy bath salt that you have just created in your own home. Now, you do the same with the eucalyptus and you do the same with the orange. Also, any of these you can just also sprinkle on your shower floor and you get the same benefit. This smells really great.
Now, what I have done here, if you want to make a gift for under a buck, it is really wonderful, just use a little of food coloring. And put only two drops in a jar about this big and I got this effect. A very pretty pink and then I put it in this bag. Another thing you can do is, for a gift idea, get some pretty bottles. That looks really nice and you can put the bath salts in there. This one, I put Maraschino cherries in it because I was using cherry oils so I thought that was a nice gift. This is a great alternative to a bubble bath because some ingredients in bubble bath like Sodium Laureth Sulphate are also drying so this does make a great alternative. It is that simple. For under a dollar, you can make your own aroma therapy bath salts.
