Mary Gallagher-Stout: Hi! I am Mary Gallagher-Stout and today we are going to make
phenomenal hand painted Christmas ornaments. I am going to
walk you through all the steps of the super easy technique of
making your very own hand painted ornaments. The supplies that
we will need to make today’s ornaments are the following- we will
need fluid acrylic paints, it is very important to use a high quality
paint in your art projects because you want them to be archival and
last forever. We are going to need acrylic medium to help disperse
the paint within the glass ornament itself and we are going to need
to purchase some glass ornaments from a local craft store be it
Michaels or AC Moore, whatever for purchasing your crafting and
this here, I found a new type of craft glass which is iridescent
which brings another dimension to our hand painted ornaments and
they come in different shapes and sizes and boxes of 4 and 6 so we
are going to be doing a couple of different shapes today.
You are going to need a drawing rack to draw your painted
ornaments with. I use an egg crate, an empty egg crate and in order
to keep your hands neat and tidy and not get your ornaments all
dirty, you are going to need paper towels and a bucket to dump the
medium and the extra paint into. So those are all the supplies that
you are going to need to make these beautiful hand painted glass
ornaments. Let me tell you a little bit about myself before we get
started. I am a studio artist at the Lorton Arts Workhouse Center
and I own and operate my own decorative painting company. So
let us get start making these beautiful hand painted ornaments.
