Making Green Surfboards

It’s the art of being able to make something that works. Every surface is different. Everyone needs something a little different.
It is my favorite sport when I was 14. I think I had around seven—in my hand before the onset of profiles and whatnot. I looked at it. I said what sort of position can I be and to make a board, I’ve got—my father is going to make boards out of the chemical and the best thing I can do is the responsible use of those products. So what we’re trying to do is lessen the amount of product we use and materials we use. The process of the factory is to eliminate anything—any output of the factory into the environment. So it’s just responsible use of materials and in a conscious way, it’s a better outcome for us.
The things you get from making a board and finishing it and giving it to someone, it comes back as, “Wow! That’s a good one.” That is why I do this.
