I've been a florist for 20 years, possibly a bit more than 20 years now and I wouldn’t change it. I'm really pleased that I got into floristry and been inspired by working with other people and seeing what other people are doing and it has been great and also you work as a team is very much, you very much have to be able to work as part of a team. And if some have some strengths and some weaknesses and usually its really good and fun. The different props that use as flowers and candelabra’s it very much depends on the venue. You know if you’ve got an altar modern venue you don’t want something rod or iron a very heavy with lots of mixed flowers.
I really like to use the tall silver candelabra they're very tall about two and a half to three foot high and then they have long tip candles in the top of those so they really give some impact to height. Other props that we would use would be to mix tall glass vases something like this with this big goldfish bowls. This are really lovely we have decorated very simply. In a church normally I would suggest just to have two things at the front and maybe some stone shades with candles in running along the aisles maybe some rose petals within the stone shad itself. If anyone is having a Christmas wedding its really is, its really lovely to do things out of red roses there is a lot of really gorgeous berries, lots of red and dark greens work really well together. It’s quite nice to mix the red with pink because it just lifts it slightly and alternative choose in the reds and the greens who perhaps need to go for something white.
This setup here is quite clean cheek, clean lines, lovely candle light, all glass also I try to make everything so that people can take the flowers away at the end of the evening. So all this little parts here they're all tied so people can take them away and I usually leave a wrap of tissue paper or something for people to take away with. I guess my signature style would be something using very clean lines again mirrors, glass, lots of candle light, nothing too fussy. I quite like just one single type of flower in a container rather than a whole mix.
I cater for all taste really because I meet so many different people and they all have they're own specific style, they all have their likes and dislikes in regard to the flowers. So you have to really be flexible and be able to cater for all taste. Myself and team of florist we travel all over the country for weddings really we've even been asked to go abroad. So really distance for us, as we work on events so were just—were very much used to just going wherever were needed really.
If you haven’t got a huge budget for your flowers, lots of candles can be used and then rose petals, lots of rose petals candles on different heights and in different containers and you know just a few little things like this running along the table. You don’t have to spend absolute fortune on flowers to have them really, really lovely look.
