Making a Volleyball Dig

Lindsey Lampert: Hi! I'm Lindsey Lampert with Northern Virginia Volleyball Association. Today, I'm teaching you how to play volleyball. Right now, I'm going to teach you how to dig. Digging is very similar to passing. Your body is going to be in the same position as when you would pass. Your knees are bent; your arms are out in front of you. The difference between digging and passing is during digging the ball is going to be coming at you at a different angle, at a higher angle. So you have to be lower to the ground to be under the ball. You have to also be on the balls of your feet, ready to move, with the ball to your left, to your right or in front of you. Right now, I'm going to hit at Nicole and Lindsey and they're going to demonstrate the proper digging technique. Now, I'm going to teach you how to serve.
