Manicure Friendly Tips for Easy Summer Entertaining . Rhiannon Ally: Summer is in full swing and with it comes with the outdoors entertaining, grilling, and the part all dread, the after party lean up. Look who’s back, we have the Accidental Housewife Julie Edelman to share her no fuss manicure friendly tips for easy summer entertaining and cleanup which we all love. Julie Edelman: You betcha. Rhiannon Ally: You know, you don’t want to spend a lot of time doing it and you also don’t want to mess your nails and your hair. Julie Edelman: You want to chill at summer. You know, another great tip here by the way is you plan the party the day before so you have less guests show up but that’s a whole other party. Rhiannon Ally: And then don’t expect a lot out of you, right? Julie Edelman: That’s right. You just come out, bring what you want. Rhiannon Ally: Right. One great idea is to get the kids involved. Julie Edelman: Yeah. And this is really simple, if they can use an ice cream scooper, they are together. So, just get melons like this whether it’s watermelon cantaloupe, honeydew, whatever it is, take the ice cream scooper, just let them scoop out the fruit, put it right into another bowl, you can actually make the fruit salad that way, doesn’t have to look pretty just put toothpicks, and then buy again store bought salads. You got coleslaw, potato salad and when you’re done, you just chuck those babies out. Rhiannon Ally: Oh, wow! I love using those as a bowl. Julie Edelman: Exactly. Rhiannon Ally: Whatever they do. Julie Edelman: Exactly. Now one of your kids or adults are little bit sloppy which most of them are, watermelon, great thing to do is first you would just take a plastic knife so you don’t need to cleanup. You just take off the extras or if you have a dog, let them lick it off. That’s always a good way to go. Rhiannon Ally: And as you are -- up, take aim with aerosol hair spray and just go directly on and it will actually -- you can see it, it begins to take out the stain, really terrific. And by the way, your hair is out of place. Rhiannon Ally: Oh, thank you. Well, using the spray that’s a great tip. Julie Edelman: Yeah. You know, I like to use things that are around the house which also leaves me to your next, comics. Rhiannon Ally: Yes. We have comics here. What are these babies for? Julie Edelman: Well, this is actually let the kids again and make a tablecloth for them, for those little plates on the tables. Rhiannon Ally: Instead of plate ironing and spending all day making tablecloths. Julie Edelman: Yeah. And then afterwards they can draw in them whatever you chuck those as well, recycle of course. Rhiannon Ally: Of course. Julie Edelman: So, you are being eco-friendly. Rhiannon Ally: What about for the adults? Julie Edelman: Well if you want to use a plastic tablecloth, actually just use your good old blow dryer and put it on not too hot a setting and it will actually blow those out. You can freshen up as well. Now, unfortunately this will not remove the wrinkles on our face. But the tablecloth will look really good, vinyl ones only, obviously. Rhiannon Ally: That’s easy enough. Okay. We have a grill here, grills can be really tough to clean. Julie Edelman: They can and we don’t want to -- you know, men love to cook but they don’t like the clean or barbeque, I should say. Really simple, while you have been mixing up some great drinks, use your cola, take aluminum foil, and just crumple it up and the citric acid that will actually clean those little babies up. So you just do that little elbow grease and you will be done and hey, make yourself another drink while you’re at it. But you know it makes me wonder sometimes what the cola is doing to our insides. Rhiannon Ally: Yeah. Julie Edelman: I guess we don’t want to get there. Rhiannon Ally: I just don’t want to think about it too much. Julie Edelman: Not too much. And it will also work for rust stains in your toilet bowls. So, should you feel like cleaning that at the same time? Rhiannon Ally: Definitely not but -- okay so lastly we all get ketchup, mustard, all the stains on our -- how do we get them out? 0 Julie Edelman: Simple. You know white wine vinegar is what you use. And what you want to do with any stain is treated pronto. And you know test if it’s not a white t-shirt an area that’s not conspicuous and then just blot, never up. And then immediately launder and you are good to go. Rhiannon Ally: Oh, really? So, that will take out barbeque sauce, mustard and ketchup, but not on all fabrics. Julie Edelman: No, you will always have to test just in case and as I said, you like to make a new design and that’s okay you put it all over. Rhiannon Ally: And here’s how it will work for anything other than watermelon? Julie Edelman: Yeah. Any kind -- yeah it will work on cherry stains or work on the strawberry stains, blueberry, it’s really terrific and also ink stains. So, if you have them. Again, if your child tries to be Picasso on their shirt or on a wall, it will work as well. Rhiannon Ally: Thank you so much for all the great tips. Julie Edelman: Thank you.
