Man's Man Skin Peel

Female Speaker: The first thing we did was what's called an LHA acid peel, which is Lipo-Hydroxy-Acid. It helps to soften the bumps and release those ingrown hairs, because really, shaving bumps are ingrown hairs that occur in the man's beard area, in Bryan's case, on this neck. Next, I released the little ingrown hairs and then we moisturized. Dr. Drew Ordon: So did you actually have to extract some of those? Female Speaker: I did, I did. Absolutely! We used some dangerous-looking instruments -- Dr. Drew Ordon: I saw that, I saw that in the beginning of the show. Female Speaker: -- to do some extractions and what that does is help to release the little ingrown hairs, and that helps the shaving bumps to go away. Dr. Drew Ordon: I think these two are like anxious to go backstage. They are giving each other the eyes here. So it's basically a facial for men, same idea. You want to cleanse, exfoliate, you moisturize, in this case, you have to do a little bit of unroofing to clean some of those bumps up that were not resolving otherwise. Female Speaker: Yes, definitely. And that's why it's so important, ladies, make sure if you notice razor bumps or shaving bumps on your man's neck, get him into the doctor, because if untreated it can turn into bleeding infected boils and can even turn into permanent scarring, and no man or a woman wants that. Dr. Drew Ordon: How often should a man be doing this skin care? Female Speaker: Well, in my office, I generally recommend doing this type of skin peel treatment about once a month, a little more frequently, if you have a bad case of razor bumps, but about once a month and of course take care of your skin at home. That's important as well. Dr. Drew Ordon: I don't see a bump on your face. Male Speaker: I don't think there is a bump. Dr. Drew Ordon: You are smooth like baby's butt. Female Speaker: It worked.
