Marware Products Review
Tiffany Young: Hi and welcome to Neo-Fight.TV, the technology show for the 'Not-So-Geeky'. My name is Tiffany Young
Ben Freedman: And I’m Ben Freedman and today on the show we just recently—
Tiffany Young: I have something to say about your shirt. It reminds me of the barcode. Does that not remind you of like a barcode?
Ben Freedman: What’s wrong with this shirt?
Tiffany Young: So it just reminds of the stripes that you see, it looks like a barcode. I mean it’s —
Ben Freedman: If any of you are watching this it like at Target Store just scan my —
Tiffany Young: And feel free.
Ben Freedman: Scan my shirt now and tell me how much it comes now.
Tiffany Young: See what you folks don’t see is that he comments on my attire but just not on TV so I have to wait until we’re actually rolling before I can give my comment. That’s very nice. I’m sorry. Go ahead.
Ben Freedman: Thanks for watching. We’ll see you next week. Be sure to tune in.
Tiffany Young: So we’re doing Marware today.
Ben Freedman: Marware, great company sent us a bunch of products and I said you know what these products are so cool. Let’s just do a whole segment just on Marware.
Tiffany Young: Great.
Ben Freedman: Marware stuff this is the Marware stuff segment. So the first thing I want to do is show you guys they have some new cases. The first one is a sleeve. Now Marware loves to do this morning stuff. It’s like a wet suit. This is like a wet suit for your computer.
Tiffany Young: So this is like it feels exactly like a wet suit.
Ben Freedman: It’s a new print.
Tiffany Young: And it feels like a three millimeter.
Ben Freedman: Yeah with a tropical wet suit. You know it’s not cold water or that’s it. So again this is a nice little vertical pouch that slides in like this.
Tiffany Young: So that looks like it is actually bigger. I mean it looks smaller than we’re actually what is, maybe it’s the coloring.
Ben Freedman: Now I love what this is, I mean these sides are very grippy.
Tiffany Young: Yeah, they are. Right.
Ben Freedman: So if you're going to pick that up that’s not going to slip out of your hand.
Tiffany Young: No.
Ben Freedman: As long as it slips out your car seat. I mean it’s a grippy, grippy feel and also this looks good, these vertical sleeves.
Tiffany Young: A little pouch right here.
Ben Freedman: Little pouch.
Tiffany Young: What is the pouch for?
Ben Freedman: I don’t know you have to stick your phone in there, yeah.
Tiffany Young: You stick your phone in there too.
Ben Freedman: Why not. Look it’s a little TV
Tiffany Young: Oh look at that, that’s cool. Very, very stream line so like a presentation.
Ben Freedman: It is you just walk around like this and nothing has got—I mean this is very secure. That is the Marware vertical sleeve. Price point you think, the Marware is I mean this is a pretty high quality company.
Tiffany Young: Or you give a little—
Ben Freedman: Head coaching there.
Tiffany Young: Intro into, how about $24.99?
Ben Freedman: $35.00.
Tiffany Young: Oh that was close.
Ben Freedman: You were close.
Tiffany Young: Let’s move on the next round.
Ben Freedman: That’s right. Let’s say you want a case that is light like that one but a little bit more substantial and this is my favorite. This is currently my favorite laptop case. Now this guy this is the Marware SportFolio. Again if you feel it, it’s the same material
Tiffany Young: Oh, it sure is.
Ben Freedman: The neat thing for all the different Mac laptops.
Tiffany Young: So these are very manly bags. Oh, definitely.
Ben Freedman: Manly bags, so goes in there like so and then in the back is just kind of funky and maybe this says something about Mac.
Tiffany Young: Oh I really like this handle. That’s neat for handle, that’s cool and it looks like it would be bendy but this is actually a solid piece right in here. That’s nice.
Ben Freedman: This is about $80.00 and if you take a look here, I don’t know if I can open this far enough here to see this but inside here they got a bunch of different pockets. Can see you that in there?
Tiffany Young: Not too many pockets that way you lose things.
Ben Freedman: Not too many pockets but they have a bunch of pockets and I don’t know if you can make it out here but actually they have little labels on the pocket showing what they suggest you put there.
Tiffany Young: Very nice.
Ben Freedman: That is where your power adopter goes and here’s where your iPod goes and here’s where your something else goes. That’s a spare battery icon for Apple. I don’t know if you can see that in there but they actually sort of show you what they think you just put there.
Tiffany Young: Very nice.
Ben Freedman: Yeah really nice because this is called the SportFolio Pro. Again it’s the same near pretty material. It’s not going to slide when you feel this.
Tiffany Young: Yeah, that’s really nice.
Ben Freedman: That is not going to slide up of your cars either or what have you.
Tiffany Young: You know and this actually probably can go in here on top of this if you want the extra protection you can do Marware.
Ben Freedman: Marware on Marware.
Tiffany Young: Look at that, it fits perfect. Wow.
Ben Freedman: A sleeve inside the sleeve. It’s just like a little red top on your Enigma.
Tiffany Young: Hey look at how much money we spend on laptops these days maybe you need a sleeve inside of the sleeves.
Ben Freedman: That is true.
Tiffany Young: I will survive a dropper and you know what. You wait this is stuck here.
Ben Freedman: Okay now moving on, also to your laptop Marware makes a little thing here and this is kind of cool. This is for the MacBooks and this is called the Marware Protection Pack Plus which is not a family planning thing, it’s actually.
Tiffany Young: Oh it took me a minute.
Ben Freedman: It’s a protection pack plus.
Tiffany Young: It’s like the delayed laugh.
Ben Freedman: And if you take a look at this, what it comes with is three items. So the first item is this and again I think you could do a sleeve inside a sleeve, inside a sleeve here if you really want to and if you just want a very thin little sleeve that’s just going be—
Tiffany Young: Oh, I like that.
Ben Freedman: Can you feel this? It is so soft.
Tiffany Young: Oh, that is so nice.
Ben Freedman: This is just a very thin.
Tiffany Young: A little blanket for your laptop.
Ben Freedman: Little thin blanket for your laptop and you jus slide it on like so.
Tiffany Young: So I have a 13-inch, the HP new Touchpad and I’m wondering I think it’s actually like a 15 because it’s got the extra battery that goes on the end.
Ben Freedman: Right. Now these are designed for Mac’s but they have the dimensions on there so you could probably find one that will fit your laptop.
Tiffany Young: Right.
Ben Freedman: But this is just I mean, that is just like you open a package and suitcase or something you just want to protect it from bumps and scratches.
Tiffany Young: That’s very nice. I like the color.
Ben Freedman: Yes, it’s nice.
Tiffany Young: Nice, light color.
Ben Freedman: And then what else do we have in here? We have this which is a little keyboard protector so let me open up this Mac here.
Tiffany Young: That’s great.
Ben Freedman: Now what you do is you take this and lay it over your keyboard so when you close it, it doesn’t smooch into the screen. Another problem I found is to be terribly big but then my favorite part of this is this third bit here which is the touchpad protection here and I like already got one on this computer.
Tiffany Young: Oh, you do.
Ben Freedman: Now take a look I don’t know if you can see that.
Tiffany Young: Oh, that’s neat.
Ben Freedman: That will be a great area down there. Feel what it feels like on your wrist. It’s just a lot nicer than the cold, bare metal that is usually there.
Tiffany Young: Yeah, it is.
Ben Freedman: Yeah.
Tiffany Young: Almost like it’s tethered. Oh you know because it’s on. It’s warming it up.
Ben Freedman: It does. Yeah. It’s like a little blanket but this will protect it from stuffs and what have you.
Tiffany Young: And this peels off pretty easy so it doesn’t go.
Ben Freedman: It does. It goes on and off without problem.
Tiffany Young: I don’t know about you but I’m always a little afraid to stick things one my laptop in case it doesn’t come off.
Ben Freedman: And finally, today in our Marwarethon is my new favorite iPhone case. This is the iPhone CEO sleeve. It is very simple, little leather sleeve, $25.00, not too expensive and again you take your iPhone and it just slides in here very easily and I used it. It is just a very professional looking sleeve.
Tiffany Young: It is very simple.
Ben Freedman: It comes with a nice belt clip so there the said sleeve and the belt clip goes on like this.
Tiffany Young: Very nice.
Ben Freedman: Very, very simple and it’s professional. You can do little Goofy like this one.
Tiffany Young: Exactly, no Mickey Mouse and no flowers and butterflies.
Ben Freedman: There you have it, four great products from Marware. We’ve got the SportFolio sleeves, SportFolio Pro, the Protection Pack and the iPhone CEO sleeves. So if you’re looking to protect your electronic gear Marware has got a good lineup.
Tiffany Young: It sure does and it’s very high quality so.
Ben Freedman: Yeah. It is a little pricey, little but it’s not cheap-cheap.
Tiffany Young: Right and it does it really doesn’t look cheap.
Ben Freedman: No it looks great, very high-end I think.
Tiffany Young: It really does very professional.
Ben Freedman: And we’ve more to come right after this with the whole other segment so stay tuned.
Ben Freedman: And welcome back to Neo-Fight.TV and kind of different little segment here. I have a friend who lives in Eugene, Oregon. His name is Ken and Ken says. “Ben, I love your show. I’ve developed this really great product.” Oh, you like develop products. “I built products” and I say “Well, what is it?” And he tells me that he loves his iPhone and the iPhone as you guys all know is like an iPod. You know that’s one of the things it does and so all of the battery extenders and battery chargers out there that will charge your iPod will also charge the iPhone but none of them really have enough juice. The iPhone has more battery requirement than some of the little iPods right. It takes a little bit of battery.
So all of the battery chargers that he had tried did not charge the iPhone sufficiently especially if you’ve got a long flight, you’re watching video.
Tiffany Young: Or go in camping.
Ben Freedman: Or go in camping, that’s right so my friend Ken has developed this. This is the iPower Rush.
Tiffany Young: Is this one is for me?
Ben Freedman: If you like.
Tiffany Young: So if I had to ask so I got always rewind this, you said I could have it.
Ben Freedman: This is the iPower Rush, it’s iPowerRush.com and if you a take a look here first I have a little switch in the bottom and this takes triple ‘A’ batteries and it takes six of them which apparently is how much juice you need to happily charge up an actual an iPhone. Now I think it’s the only one in the market, it takes that much juice. These are the ones he’s tried take three batteries or four batteries.
Tiffany Young: So it is just that you charge it then one six batteries and they will be drained.
Ben Freedman: Well actually you can get two or three chargers for these batteries according to Ken. You turn a little switch on it and if you look on the back here, I don’t know if you can see on the camera but there are little green lights that light up. Can you see that?
Oh yeah, I can see it. Little green lights that light up that show you that it is fixed to switch on. It shows you how much power there is on for the batteries and then it’s very simple you take this, plug in to the at the bottom of your iPhone and the iPhone starts to charge up.
Tiffany Young: So this works for regular like a 60 GB iPod, it works for any other?
Ben Freedman: It will work for any iPod or anything like that but it’s great on the bigger one like the ones with a hard drive or ones with a bigger battery. You know iPod Nano maybe it’s a little bit of over kill but for something like an iPhone that has bigger battery requirements. Now I was recently on a flight and I was taking a flight across country and when you watch video on iPhone that sucks the battery.
Tiffany Young: Yeah.
Ben Freedman: I twill last a day when you’re on the phone but if I'm watching like three, four, five hours of video by the time I get there the battery is dead. So what I did is just plug this in like this. It adds obviously a little bit of size to it but you can just hold it very easily. I mean as you can see it, it holds very nicely and I watch video for the entire five hours of the flight and when I got there battery was still a 100% full.
Tiffany Young: Wow, that’s great.
Ben Freedman: So it still has to hold that.
Tiffany Young: That’s very great, that’s very nice, great invention Kent.
Ben Freedman: Ken, no T
Tiffany Young: Ken sorry, Ken.
Ben Freedman: That’s okay.
Tiffany Young: So, yeah great invention and I think that this is definitely something that could be used in the marketplace.
Ben Freedman: Yeah, $29.95.
Tiffany Young: I mean I’ve run of battery plenty of times.
Ben Freedman: And the great things is this if you’re at the airport or something
Tiffany Young: You just buy new batteries.
Ben Freedman: You can just buy new batteries.
Tiffany Young: Exactly.
Ben Freedman: You know those batteries are so cheap at the airport.
Tiffany Young: I usually hunt for an outlet.
Ben Freedman: $50.00 and you’ve got new batteries.
Tiffany Young: You can find the nearest outlet next to any gate at any moment try to charge things last minutes.
Ben Freedman: In fact I wish to make some of like this for laptops and they do make laptop batteries but they’re huge.
Tiffany Young: It is so surprising they don’t sell in the airport so it has to be perfect.
Ben Freedman: Well I think he’s looking for distribution right now and that is to get into Wal-Mart, into the airport source and all those places but right now the place to go is iPowerRush.com. iPowerRush.com is the place to go and he just calls the iPower Rush.
Tiffany Young: And I like the design too.
Ben Freedman: It’s easy, it’s simple.
Tiffany Young: And very simple.
Ben Freedman: So go check it out.
Tiffany Young: Good job, Ken.
Ben Freedman: Yeah.
Tiffany Young: We like it.
