I am Steve Turano, welcome to this episode of body performance. Did you see that movie Super Size Me, the gentleman that did the documentary that eating in McDonalds? Something about this movie bothers me and here is what it is, it is not an accurate depiction of how Americans eat, and certainly not accurate depiction on how Americans gain weight.
If you ate anywhere in America, I do not care where it is. Any fast food chains or any gourmet restaurants, or any supermarket and you stuffed yourself beyond your full point day after day for four weeks, of course you gain weight. Why is this amazing? Why is this documentary material? But the one thing this gentleman did not prove, and McDonalds should be aware of this as well, is that most Americans do not gain weight rapidly.
This gentleman did, why? Because he over ate, he stuffed himself and most Americans do not eat like that. We gain weight gradually, slowly, in perceptively. He gained 20 or 30 pounds in a month. That is huge. That is because he was over eating. I bet you have not gained your 20 or 30 pounds in a month, my point exactly. I have always said, people do not over eat because they do not gain weight rapidly and this is exactly what he proved.
Most Americans do not gain like that, because they do not eat like that. Sure we do not eat healthy, but we do not stuff ourselves, we do not gourde ourselves, we do not over eat. When you do that, you gain weight rapidly. So my suggestion is, do not take your fitness and weight loss advice from a movie maker. I will see you next time. Love your body.
