Host: Two days ago Chris and Nathalie Miller hit the home improvement center for
baby proving supplies. They took a chance on contractor Josh Temple and put the
faith of there superb and family room firmly in his hands but will let pay out off.
Are you guys ready for this? Well that’s remains to be seen.
Jim Temple: Now when we talk about this yesterday the first thing we are doing that we are
talking about is the fire place right?
Host: The fireplace needs the big time face lift and not just the half below the tile line.
Josh has floor to ceiling redo plan as part of the room same with the media room.
The high depth TV hangs in a low interest out cove but not for long, customize
cabinetry will help pop the plasma, the walls and windows are on track form
innovated over whole too.
Jim Temple: That’s what we are going to do we can’t waste anymore time because we have a
lot of work to do so let’s get moving. You are going to helping Alex, Alex is
going to building the mantel.
Host: Alex and Chris get to work making 45 degree angled miter cut that will match the
angle of the wall, the pieces are glued together reinforce with finishing nails and
sanded before staining.
Alex: You know I really did want a mantel because it was just so boring with those
plain tiles around it and now I can actually think about hang some stockings for
Dorsey for Christmas.
Host: To blackout the glair in the living room Johnny and Phoebe are making some
totally original hanging doors to cover the windows. Inside Josh gives Madeline
some pointers on building the mantel base plate.
Josh: Okay here is what we are going to do, you are going to start right here right on
that.
Madeline: Here?
Josh: Yeah. So this ultimately will go up against the wall like so.
Host: Josh uses a combination of 2x4 and plywood to create an angle base for the
fireplace when it’s done it will hopefully holds the solid piece of costume granite.
Josh: Okay so it’s time to do the media the cabinet. Look at that you did the great job
already and what we are building right now is the upper piece that’s going to have
two doors on either side with the glass opening and glass shelves and then the
center portion we are going to have the shelves so they can displace some
decorative items.
Host: Perfect and we are just basically build this into the wall right now.
Josh: In the essence of time we are going to cut all the pieces here and get them inside,
get them up so people can serve.
Host: Next step, installing the false back on the media center which is going to hold the
TV, believe it or not we’re close, we’re router a grove in the door for a glass
insert then send it off to get painted. Inside time to trick out TV land.
Josh: Unbelievable.
Host: What do you think?
Madeline: Crazy, absolutely crazy we keep saying with hold in judgment we did the right
thing it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Josh: I was worry but this looks phenomenal.
Host: Before the millers had a crane there neck to see the TV, now thanks to Josh and
his crew it tilts and wobbles inside its own costume cabinet and the new glair
blocking window covers make for a video gamers paradise. Oh and the blast
fireplace that brought about the crash in a first place it becoming a fitting
centerpiece in this brand new home theater.
