Joe: Joe from Atlanta. I notice I can't remember things as well as I used to. What point should I be concerned? Dr. Stuart Zola: That's a good question, Joe and people often are worried about that. If you find yourself forgetting where your car keys are from time to time, that's really not a sign of anything to be very concerned about. Often we have lots of things that are distracting us and we forget some items, but if you are consistently finding that you are forgetting appointments or forgetting other things in a much more frequent time, then you might be worried about that. We have a kind of rule of thumb that you think about and one is if you are worried about yourself, often it is nothing to worry about, but your spouse or relatives or friends are worried about it then it is something you may want to take seriously.
