Memory Loss Prevention

Christine: My name is Christine and I am from Bath, Michigan. My grandmother has experienced an increase in memory loss since she became unable to drive her car. I wondered if the loss of that responsibility could contribute to further memory loss, and if there is anything, any exercises that she could do to prevent any more memory loss from happening? Gary Small: Christine, we often recommend that patients with Alzheimer's disease try to remain active. The challenge is to find activities that are not dangerous and certainly driving is not a good idea for many of these patients. So I recommend try to find things that might be stimulating familiar to her that she can get involved in to hopefully make her life richer and more fulfilling.
