Ed: My name is Ed. I am 29 years old from Portland, Oregon. What is normal and what is not normal when it comes to memory loss as I get older? Dr. James Galvin: Well Ed, let me tell you, memory loss is not a normal part of aging process. If people become forgetful, that would suggest that there might be the beginnings of a disease like Alzheimer's disease. People do things a little slower as they get older, but they do not become forgetful.
