Right, we have been through importing. So we have now got a fairly comprehensive catalog of assets and of course what we would need to do is to know effectively how to use the application to work with those and all the little tips and tricks within the software.
So let us have a detail look at the interphase and let us go through all the icons for start. So as you already have seen, we have got the ability to go through left and right here. This mean show all items. This is a substitute for the control or command E which we use to show all the items within a catalog.
Now these two palettes are the engine room really of the application. Information gives us an overview of all the metadata associated with individual or group of images or normally individual images, so metadata of course information about that image or graphic or movie or sound clip.
Metadata is basically everything that describes that and help us to catalog and help up to search and to find the asset later on. The organize palette on the other hand gives us a few of all the fields of metadata. So the basic level we have got labeling here of course and rating and have more advanced view we have got catalog sets. We can group images into catalog sets. Date finder, of course, we can go through and find assets dating from particular periods of time. So anything that is current to 2007, we can go right back into 2003 to find assets from that period. And if we have added information about office, people, and specific keywords about assets, this will be cover to later on in the asset section and this is the place to access this and as you can see we have got just three assets which we have actually got some keyword assign them already.
Below this, we have got the area showing the catalog folders. So everywhere where asset stored, you have got a view of those and what folders they are in and we of course can then pick out assets within specific folders. If we go here, you can pick out the pictures, the sounds, and the video.
So everywhere that asset is stored, we can see the information about those and see what number of assets. As you can see, you have got three video clips here. We have got three sound folders here and we have got 55 pictures or images within this folder. So this really is functionality, it unable you to filter or to search our images for specific criteria.
Now, as we come here, we have got another range of icons. Let me just select and I said and we have got open width. This is basically referring helper applications so we can use to setup Photoshop illustrator sound, sound editing software. We can use also these applications and we can just add those in there to assistance in our viewing or listening to our assets.
Now here is the icon, the texts into the folder where assets are. So it gives our view of our asset in its actual existing location. So if you can see, I have highlighted that image ending 19 and by clicking the icon and then into the folder and I can view that asset with its context. Let us just hide that away there.
If I want to actually click an asset, now I do not mean just remove it from a catalog which I can do with the backspace key, but I actually want to delete an asset because it is not good. It does not fair within the criteria and all has been duplicated accidentally. I hit this cross here and of course if I just hit that, I get a choose, a warning and of course I do not want to delete this file, but it unable me to move the file or asset to the recycle bin and delete it permanently from the collection and from the source folder. We will cancel that one there.
E-mail, how often you want to send e-mails of your assets? I mean we are not talking of the whole catalog here. We are talking of just two or three files. Just want to prove it to the plans and have a quick look of what you have got. And if we click this, it will unable us to actually set criteria in terms of the amount of compression, the size of the file, and to create multiple e-mails. If we have got four images we can send, one image per e-mail and we can give immediate summary and even include metadata on that.
So that is very, very useful functionality. Cancel that one. Did you know we can add voice annotations to our assets if we have got microphone connector to the computer, we can simply click this and record and add voice information to an asset. Very useful if you want to add detailed caption information that perhaps too long to type out or you want to put just little notes, little verbal notes to yourself about how an image or file should or should not be use for an instance and of course we can even set the compression on that to regulate the size of that annotation.
Now if I click off that one, here of course we have got the ability to assign labels. Some of these things can of course begin by using the right click on the mouse. But in this case, we can add a color label, another here we can add a star or written label. What I like about media particularly is of course you can use both. So if you have a simple sonic image, you can use, make it five stars with a red label or whatever you like. But, the ability to be able use both side by side is very powerful in deed and let us just clicked this one.
Now this is very, very powerful and I am going to go on to this in just a few moments. View options, we have got the ability to customize the interphase to pieces. I mean we can do everything you like to do about it whether you are sorting by different criteria and all these other stuff, it is all in here. So we will go that in just a moment as subject on its on.
