Dough White: I'm pharmacist Dough White inside the medicine chest. Unfortunately medication mixups do happen sometimes; here are some tips to keep in mind to reduce the chance that will happen to you.
First don't be in a hurry. Try calling in your refills a day ahead to give your pharmacists plenty of time, or use your electronic auto fill if you have medication that needs to be refilled every month.
Look at your medicine if the color shape or size is different in what you are used to check with your pharmacist, it could just be a new manufacturer, but if it doesn't look the same, always ask when you get them home, don't mix your medicine one bottle. It's too easy to confuse them; Pill organizers are good cheap way to keep track of your medicine make sure they don't get mixed up so you don't get mixed up.
When you go back for your refills, stay with the same pharmacy and get to know your pharmacists.
