Hi, this is Mike Callahan, Dr. File Finder and welcome back to our special Butterscotch.com 10-part series on Quicken Online. Now we have a note that in order to do this tutorial series and yet not reveal a lot of my personal information, I have juggled around to two bank accounts that I'm using for this tutorial series so that it doesn’t really reflect any of my actual finances, but it does reflect some of the power and capabilities of Quicken Online. In this segment and the next several, we’re going to cover these various tabs that are in Quicken Online.
So first up is the Home tab. Now here you see, it’s saying my spending money and it shows I'm in negative numbers. What it does over here is it’s showing that I have some upcoming bills. Keep in mind that I've also just created this account. So without my having to program anything, it has looked at previous transactions and sees that I have certain payments coming up. So it’s taken those into account, added them up over here, it looks at what I have in the account now and this is what it’s telling me, is that I need to add a paycheck in order to make sure that I don’t have anything overdrawn. To me this is very cool because it helps you at a glance to see exactly what's going on. You look and it says -376 and it clearly shows you exactly where your money is, where it’s going to be going in the form of payments that are coming up and it shows you what’s in your accounts currently.
So, this is the Home tab in Quicken online, very informative, very impressive. Make sure to remember that this is a multiple-part series and be sure to watch all 10 parts.
