So they feed the people, some of the people got fruits, some got vegetables, some got grains, dairy, legumes and meats and eggs and so forth and they ate these things and they didn't measure what happened. What they found was, the women who ate fruits and vegetables moved into a calcium balance, and in fact they went into a calcium, they started storing calcium, their bones started becoming more dense again. The women who were eating grains, dairy, legumes, fish, eggs and meats, especially in their diet with no fruits and vegetables, continued to lose calcium.
So they simple looked at each food to see what was the effect on the acidity of the food. So they feed somebody raisins and then measured the effect on acidity of the blood, alkalinity of the blood, whichever way you want to look at it, of the blood after a given amount of raisins, and they came for the scale they use over here and this is just the scale they came up with, so they said, raisins were -21, higher the number is, the more it enhances the alkaline in your body fluids, in other words, the more it offsets the acid of your body.
So eating raisins would be something would really offset acidity of your body, of your body fluids and help you to store calcium and maintain your nitrogen stores and you can see these numbers to yourself. Spinach down here, you know Popeye had it right again, spinach -14, that means very good, what that means, it's saying to us, spinach is very good for you in terms of this whole acid, alkaline balance issue and so forth down the line. You see some these are very low, but there is a scale they have created over these various foods they have tested.
If you go to this side over here, these are all the acidic foods. These are all the foods that make the acidity in your body worse and notice this, grains; these are things we like to eat all the time, these are things we are told are really health, 6 to 11 serving of grains a day were told to eat by the government and look what it does, brown rice, +12.5, we think of brown rice being like the most healthy food you can eat, it's a +12.5, which makes your body very acidic.
You give up calcium and nitrogen, if your diet is very high in brown rice. Rolled oats, whole wheat bread, spaghetti, and so forth down the line. Dairy, we tell people eat dairy to off set their calcium loses and look at this, Parmesan cheese +34.2, man who eat calcium, who eat Parmesan cheese you can just watch the acid build up in your body, so calcium disappears practically.
All the way down to whole milk, 0.7, which is pretty, almost neutral, whole milk, but they didn’t -- the skimmed milk, later studies they are showing the skimmed milk is actually worse in this scale than the whole milk was. It has more of a negative impact on your calcium deposits then whole milk. Now legumes, peanuts or legumes by the way, +8.3 and peanuts, if you like peanut bread and eat it all the time, you are increasing your blood acidity.
Fish, eggs and meats, trout 10.8 and so forth, pretty high. Now this does not mean, never eat these food, it doesn't mean that. I am not trying make you all into people who just vegetables all day long, by any means. All I am saying is, when you are picking foods to eat in stage 5, you want a lot of foods you eat to be over here. This is where you want lots of your food to be, right over here.
It's okay to include these foods, I am not saying don't eat them, I am just saying don't make them the focus of your meals, in stage 5. If you do, you are something increasing your acidity and delaying the recovery process. Your body is going to giving up nitrogen, because of eating these foods, if you eat them in heavy amounts. It's okay to eat them, just watch it how much. Make sure you get lots of these over here and again our old friend vegetables. Notice how important vegetables are in your diet.
Man you just cannot go wrong by eating lots of vegetables. You just cannot go wrong. It's like the best food you could be eating in stage 5 would be vegetables, but include these other foods, just make sure you fo
