Welcome to Cnet Top Five, where each time we meet we count down another tantalizing Cnet list, I'm Tom Merritt. Over the course of the year, we make a lot of videos here at Cnet TV. And while we love each and every one of them, you love some of our videos a little more than others. Now we pay attention to that when we make new videos by the way, because we want you to like them. So being at the ears up and all, let's see which ones you like the most. Presenting the top five most popular Cnet TV videos of 2008.
At number five, Jailbreak the 2.0 iPhone. Folks love to tweak stuff, and nothing seems to have been more popular to tweak than the iPhone. We even got a little love for this video from the iPhone Dead team who made this particular Jailbreak possible. So thanks to them for doing a heck in the first place.
Coming in at number four, our first look at the Samsung Instinct, known as the iPhone of sprint. Its video is actually more popular than the iPhones. That’s right, in fact the iPhone video didn’t even make our top ten. You’ve seen it, I guess you wanted to see the competition in action.
Speaking of iPhone competitors, at number three, our first look at the AT&T Tilt. This early entry really got your attention, and interestingly from the carrier that already offered the iPhone, the AT&T. the little tilt in the body is considered cool then, for some reason it was not considered so cool in the T-Mobile G1 that came out later in the year.
Sliding in at number two, Run Windows on a Mac. The old boot camp video. This was actually a reintroduction to the concept after boot camp became standard in OS ten Leopard. And no surprise, the dream of one common standard for operating systems lives on.
Before we get to number one, here's the remainder of the top ten videos, products, price fight, and punditry.
But what captured your attention the most? Which video appealed to you all the most Over the course of the whole year? At number one, it’s Speed Up Your Wifi. An old adage in promoting tech topics that free and speed will get your audiences attention. And this year, speed is king. And no surprise either that troublesome, frustrating, 80211 protocol has cause enough angst to drive you in droves to see some tweaks for eaking out just a little more performance. Hope it helped.
Well that’s it for this edition of Cnet Top Five. You can find all these videos and more at good old Cnettv.com. I'm Tom Merritt, thanks for watching.
