I am Steve Terrano and welcome to this episode of body performance. You always hear me talking about intensity, what am I referring to? Here is what I am referring to. I am talking about the intensity of muscular contractions because it is muscular contractions that utilize calories and cost weight lost, muscular contractions help us move and burned calories. Now it is the number of muscular contractions that it is important but most important is the intensity of those muscular contractions because the contractions are more intense, they will burn more calories and they will also firm and change your bodies.
Now, come on let us go out, put out a video, that say yoga implies are not the best in losing weight and they are not. And I get always those nasty emails saying, “Hey Steve, you ever done yoga you have done Pilates, hey we do power pilates and power yoga you should try it” okay that is fine. I am not saying that yoga is not good for you; I am not saying yoga will not make you flexible and I m not saying yoga will not stretch you but if yoga and pilates is getting you better in shape, you are not in great shape to begin with.
See this exercise do not have tremendous muscular contractions, they are not very intense, and they are not very long. So this is why tell people you need to exercise with intensity do exercises or exercise a program that gets your muscles flexing, flexing often and flexing with intensity because this is what burns calories and changes your bodies look, thank you much.
