My Book External Hard Drive – Unboxing
What’s up guys John Rettinger with the unboxing for you of the one Terabyte MY Book External Hard Drive? So before I get started let me say I totally know this is just an unboxing of an external hard drive but it was user requested so I’m going to go ahead and unbox it anyway. You know it’s not anything terribly fun or exciting but at least you guys are going to have a chance to see what comes in one of these in case you’re interested in picking one up.
This is going to be use for a time machine back up. I got a 500G now but with all of the video and stuffs that I’m doing, it filled up very quickly. So this runs me 135 bucks from Cos Go. It’s a big box retailer if you don’t have one where you are, you know they have one I believe in Europe and certainly in the US but for else in the where in the world and you don’t know what Cos Go is that is what it is. Let’s go ahead and open it up and I’ll try out to slice myself with this giant knife. At least that will make entertaining to see if cut my hand open. So there isn’t an easy way to do these. It does not appear there is so we’ll go ahead and just cut into the plastic. Let’s go to the top. See if I can do it without killing myself which I’m making no promises for it. So at least we can say there is an unboxing and had a little bit of action on it.
I should say that I do not recommend doing this at home, use a pair of scissors. This was just to keep it a little bit fun and exciting. Let’s see if we can cut through the center, there we go. All right we’ll slice right to the top. All right, let see if we can just rip. Sorry if that deafened you. That’s how Cos Go sells things in these blister packs. Okay, so now the danger is gone. Let’s take a look at the box; you can see I hacked it there. So this particular one is USB 2.0, Firewire 400 or eSATA and again up to one Terabyte in case you’re wondering how much space one Terabyte is. They tell you right on top, 140 hours of video, 80,000 songs, 91,000 JPEGS all kind of other stuff.
So I think that’s what you get with 3000 Gigabytes with one Terabytes yet, 400 videos, quarter of a million MP3s and 285,000 JPEGS that’s a lot, mostly going to be for the videos. See what we got in the box and tightly packed in there. They give you instructions. I guess really that hard plug in. If you need instructions on external hard drive and you’re probably my parents, as I should saying probably read the instructions for hard drives. So here is the power supply just to plug, audio video cables, which is very nice. We’ve got a Firewire 400 cable and a USB cable. Interestingly they’re using mini USB if not a standard USB video as this does and that’s it. Let’s take a look at the hard drive itself, go ahead and break the plastic. Even though this is only a hard drive, I got to tell you guys I still love that new gadgets smell no matter what it is. Whether what it is, whether it’s a cell phone, a computer no matter how big or small so I set about opening up a new piece of tech and this one just like the other Western digital MY Book drives. I know there’s a light there that are light up and there are your ports on the back.
Two Firewire 400 eSATA, USB and power and that is about it guys. Just a—actually I can say this now in minute, a very short unboxing on the Western Digital Hard Drive. Hope you enjoyed. For exclusive content be sure to follow me on twitter.com/john4lakers. See you on the next video guys, bye-bye.
