MyRealPage has created an integration package with Funambol Synchronization Server, an Open Source package available from www.funambol.com.
Funambol package provides plugins for Outlook, Blackberry, iPhone, Palm, Windows Mobile and many other programs to synchronize your contacts, calendar, notes and other data.
These can be downloaded from:
https://www.forge.funambol.org/downlaod/
First and foremost: let's back up your current Contacts .pst file from Outlook!
Select "Export to File".
Select "Personal Folder File (.pst)".
Select "Contacts" folder.
Note this location of the backup file.
We recommend that you copy the backed up file from the location you noted to an external disk for better safety.
If you ever needed to recover your backup, this is how you would do it...
Make sure "Select from another program or file" is selected.
Next, select "Personal Folder File (.pst)"
Make sure you "point" to where your backup files is.
Select "Contacts".
Now, let's start the synchronization...
Let's note our Clients and Leads before the synchronization.
Next, let's "push" our contacts to the synchronization server...
At this point nothing should change for us; we simply "pushed" our contacts to the server for the first time.
Next, we'll download the Outlook Plugin.
If you don't feel like filling out the questionnaire, you can skip it...
Find the downloaded plugin and run it...
You will need to agree to the License Agreement to proceed.
After the plugin window appears, we'll need to go to Tools->Options...to configure our settings.
Enter: "http://sync.myrealpage.com:8888/funambol/ds" into "Location" field.
And your Private Office username/password.
Now, click "Sync All" button.
This dialog indicates that we are synchronizing for the first time...
Wait until the synchronization finishes completely.
Let's launch Outlook.
Notice the two sub-folders created for your Private Office Clients and Leads.
Also notice a new toolbar item for Funambol.
Let's create a new Lead while the Leads folder is selected.
Now, let's synchronize again to push our addition to the server...
Also, let's "Control-drag" a contact from Outlook top level folder into our Clients folder.
Synchronize again, since we made a change...
Now, in Private Office, we synchronize and view changes.
Here is our contact copied from Top Level Outlook Folder.
And our newly created contact in Outlook.
Now, let's see our contacts synchronize with the Webmail Address Book.
Let's go into the Address Book.
When we synchronized Private Office, the system automatically synchronized Webmail as well.
Now, let's create a Webmail Contact.
This is our newly created contact.
Let's click "Synchronize".
Let's open Outlook and synchronize.
Here is our contact from webmail.
Now, let's create a contact in Outlook.
Let's synchronize...
Back in webmail, we synchronize to bring in the changes...
To refresh the view, select "View Personal".
Here is our Outlook contact.
Outlook Contact Synchronization is now in public testing.
Please contact support@myrealpage.com to enable this feature if you wish to beta-test it.
We know that your contact data is very important, so please back up your contacts before using the synchronization software, as shown at the beginning of this video.
