NAMM 2009 Pioneer MEP-7000, DJM-3000 Demo
DJ Ty: Hey guys this is DJ Ty from agiprodj.com here at NAMM 2009 in the Pioneer booth with Dj Jay. He is going to show us the brand new MEP-7000 and DJM-3000 mixer.
Jay: All right, this is Pioneer’s dual player. It got USB source in the front, two discs, and can play mp3, CDs; the great thing is mp3s on a DVD. If you are playing an mp3, here is the even better part. Put it in one disc and if it is mp3s you can send it to either side. So you only need one disc, you are rocking the gig out.
This one I have got hooked up right now also with a Pacemaker. If you are not familiar with this, it a – device; you got to look into this a little bit. It is a music storage, but it is also a full DJ setup. It does not replace you or the gear, but allows you to actually go out wirelessly DJ, set it up, put all your music, use effects; it is actually turntables built in. This thing is awesome. What I got is I got it hooked to the MEP-7000.
If you notice on this, it got all these search functions just off of that. I got all these sources. I got disc one, my other disc, I got two USBs. I can run to a PC, hook up whatever program I really want. In fact, it was just announced that Serato is going to be working with this so I can run Serato off the MEP. I can run my own DJS up. I can store a play list. Here is one of my play lists; I store it, I set it, the next time I come in here, I get my play list.
The thing is just amazing here. If you look it mimics all of the Pioneer CDJ products. So you know where all your buttons are, you still know that you are playing your cue set up, got your loop, got your pitch, also has some effects on here. Right now, I have got one of the scratch effects and it shows you what you are doing.
Now, the reason I got this monitor up here is I got composite video out of this controller. Here is one of the cool features from those of you who that want to do this; I got the CD-G, that is karaoke. Show up at the gig, get some discs. Take a composite item to the controller. Put it to a monitor. Put it in a disc, karaoke. All your lyrics are up here, all your lyrics are here. Have you seen other products like this?
Here is the deal though; one, two, three monitors. So while I am changing tracks, I am not losing my time codes. Other ones, you may have one in the middle. It is little tough to read everything going on. I have got my play list again, set up my mixes, I got my effects. I can toggle back and forth. If I do not want to use it as a scratch effect I can use it as regular jog break effect. And the effects change. Jet, Roll, Wah if I do it as a jog; Scratch, Trans, and Bubble scratch if I do it this way.
I got it paired up here with the DJM-3000. It is a great rack-mount mobile mixer. Why? There is a three microphone at this. It got the Pioneer quality you are used to, but three mics. So you got any set up you want to ride. Running it off two of the four channels, my master, my effects, I can do cross fade effects at real time, get all my bpm counts up. This thing is absolutely awesome mixer.
Paired up with this, that is the DJM-3000 and the MEP-7000 from Pioneer.
