NCMEC Studies on Child Abduction

Host: Has the NCMEC done any studies about attempted abductions? Nancy McBride: It's interesting to know that the National Center has studies about attempted abductions because I don't believe there is anybody else out there who has. We have analyzed well over 800 cases, 850 cases. These are cases that were corroborated by law enforcement so it's not just the situation where we heard something or read something. Law enforcement has actually told us that these attempts happened and we have analysis different things about the attempted abduction so that we can form some conclusions. These aren't necessarily trends because the sample is relatively small, but we have learned a lot from analyzing the data.
