Drew Bennett
WR, St. Louis Rams
Drew: We’re going to do two turns that’s it; we’re going to catch the ball each
turn. Now that the key to this drill, the reason this is a good drill is you
want to— like when your running go route and your turning it to a curl.
You’re turning it to a come back. You want everyone and everyone that’s
watching to think that your going, your shoulders are the same, you’re
headed downfield; you know your hips stay the same. You don’t jump in
anything. You come straight up and as soon as you pass that cone you
drop your hips and you drop your shoulders.
You are going to keep your arms moving and like you’re kind of having a
comeback or something like that but your going to break on in. You’re
going to come straight out. I’m going to throw you a ball so you got to
work on catching the ball out of the break and then after you catch the ball
you can do the same thing there. You are going to take a right turn right
there and Shawn I’m throwing you a ball and coming back right towards
you out of the way.
So again you want to go fast but you want to go under control and you
want to get something out of it. You know don’t coming flying up and
have your arms over the place and drop the ball. You know under control
you know fast but don’t hurry, alright go!
There you go that’s good, that’s good. Go!
Good, keep those shoulders over your knees. Go!
Here you go, good job.
That’s good.
That’s really, your keeping your shoulders forward. You didn’t want know
when you were going to stop that’s perfect.
