Gary: Hello everybody! Welcome to wine library TV. I am your host, Gary Vaynerchuk. And this is my friend, the thunder show, a.k.a, the internet’s most passionate wine program. And we have a live crowd. Crowd.
Crowd: [Cheering]
Gary: We also have a guest. One of the legendary human beings in the technology scene, he is also Pat’s fan and since this is my first episode, thank you. That was a good job crowd. And this is my first episode since the devastating loss. Maybe you have noticed that I was not talking to the human world for 24 hours. It is kind of ironic that he is here. I am not sure if I like it. As a matter of fact, as I am talking through this, I am pretty upset about it. That being said, he is here anyway. Sir, because I am not going to tell them who you are. Tell the maniacs out there who you are.
Jimmy: Jimmy Ladderback.
Gay: Boo! No, just kidding.
Jimmy: You know what, I thought, I didn’t even bring up the whole—
Gary: I am such a jerk. I am trying to get you guys to boo, and this guy said nothing. He stays quiet. You were unbelievable. I appreciate that because we would have won, you know. All right, tell them who you are. All right, go ahead, tell them who you are.
Jimmy: All right, we’re Vision 3 internet television, we have a whole bunch of shows including, we run Wine Library TV, and we have edited version of Wine Library TV.
Gary: Reserve.
Jimmy: Reserve, you know, Wine Library TV is awesome—20 minutes, 30 minutes—
Gary: Didn’t it seemed we’re used of why he has an awesome butt.
Jimmy: But, sometimes you do not have 20 minutes to prepare—
Gary: Sometimes you can’t, you know, taking 20 minutes of Gary is tough.
Jimmy: It is not tough.
Gary: No, why bro?
Jimmy: —times, so, you have five minutes, I edited version where we have some fun with all the great stuff you do, bringing in pictures. We are really trying to illuminate—
Gary: It is better than the actual show. I really think that honestly. It is different.
Jimmy: It is different.
Gary: And you do what there?
Jimmy: I’m, you see, I’m like—
Gary: All right so, because Jimmy is here, we brought out the good stuff, not really. But, we are really focusing today on Napa Valley Cabernet. You know I wanted to go somewhere broad. We’re here live at the New York TV Festival. Let us give it up to them. And we are going to be tasting four wines from Napa, ranging in the $30 and $40 range, big names. A lot of people have been emailing me, saying things like, “you know Gary, you are amazing, and you are unbelievable, and tremendously good looking,” and lots of stuff but one of the things that people were asking is, “can you do a show with wines that I can find a jerk?”
So, that I have been seeing a lot and so hopefully we would be able to handle that with these bunch because there are four wines here that are widely available especially the latter three are pretty much in any fine wine shop across this great land. Let us get right into it, Jimmy.
Jimmy: I love it.
Gary: The first wine that we are doing, its far buddy, so you got to zoom your ass off, it’s noting 2005, Napa Cab The Ranch. This wine is rated, oh good, nice—91 points wine spectator, 35 US bones. I am going to give you a little pour.
Jimmy: Thank you.
Gary: Got it. How many people here in the crowd drink, by clap, cabernet?
Crowd: [clapping]
Gary: And do you like cabernet?
Crowds: [clapping]
Gary: Oh, it might just be tricky because you think you are suppose to. Cabernet, is by far, is the most popular varietals in our store, California cabernet is the meeting category in our stores. So, it is very popular great varietals. It is one that people think that they have to get into because it is serious, that it is completely not true. You should be embracing all different grape varietals and trusting your own palate of course. And when you go to Napa, do not get a twisted, you’re paying for a brand. You are paying for those four letters and not water. Not that there aren’t great wines out there.
