Natalie Gulbis Demonstrates Tiger Woods Pga Tour 09 – Wii
Host: As you’ve seen our creative teams have invested heavily in
developing connected experiences for the online gamer clearly as
Mr. Walton pointed out so I’ll very eloquently— but we’re also
committed to making our games much more accessible and
approachable to the millions of people around the world who call
themselves sport fans.
As we expand our brand we’ve got a tremendous opportunity on
the week. We’re developing a new line of games and are ground
up with unique controls, unique modes, unique presentation and
even unique packaging. It’s EA Sports all play.
Today we’re going to show you our most popular EA Sports title
on the Wii and that of course is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 all
play. I like to invite on the stage a special guest to help me with the
demo. She’s an LPGA Pro who won a first tournament last season.
She has her own reality show in the Golf Channel and from what I
hear she’s a pretty good video gamer. Natalie Gulbis! Natalie come
on board.
[Applause]
Thank you Natalie.
Natalie: Thank you, thank you for having me.
Host: So Natalie I hear you went to see the boys at Tibron who you are
all under recently?
Natalie: I did.
Host: I’m sure that was the highlight of their week.
Natalie: It was fun for me too. It was nice to get away from the regular
practice and they go in and play a little video games and meet all
the folks there everyday.
Host: You just tell me your schedule down the green room, you’re like
gone for like 6 months, right?
Natalie: I am in 5 different countries too.
Host: And including defending your title at the— Open next weekend in
France. Well good luck with that. You’re ready to play here?
Natalie: I’m ready to play.
Host: So clearly Natalie is a professional golfer. I on the other hand am
not, not even a golfer a little bit of a duffer so what can I do to
really will help me compete with you all play. So what we’re going
to see here is as we go into the game itself. I’m going to be
utilizing all the benefits of all play. Now what I have here I’m
going to play as Tiger, of course. Let’s take a fly by.
We’re from Wolf Creek. You’re from Las Vegas when you live
somewhere you life in Vegas.
Natalie: Yes.
Host: Have you ever played Wolf Creek.
Natalie: I haven’t played this golf course yet but after seeing this hole it
looks pretty good.
Host: Okay, you’re going to play so again I got the benefit so there you
can see my trail. I’m actually going to put it down right there. Now
one of the great things that is a big improvement I think last year is
the ability to get that one-on-one natural serene get me a feel for
the club and figure where I’m at and here we go. How do you like
that?
Natalie: Looks good.
Host: You think so.
Natalie: It’s really good.
Host: Think so.
Natalie: Oh no.
Host: I’m just happy I didn’t pause the game first of all that’s the big
thing so.
Natalie: I’ll play it’s good for your confidence too the next time we go and
play.
Host: Do you need a tip? I don’t think you need a tip
Natalie: No tip.
Host: Alright get out of there so Natalie?
Natalie: Like I said the difference is you have ball play I have to—
Host: That’s right so what you have to worry about is things like club
selection, wind.
Natalie: Yup, if wind is going right to left so I’m going top move the cursor
a little bit right.
Host: Okay.
Natalie: It’s playing down hill so I’m going to actually club down a couple
of clubs. It has got me the 2 iron but I’m going to go down to
probably just a 4, maybe 3.
Host: I think you’re good with the 3.
Natalie: But I can do the same practice move like you do to.
Host: You got have your iron alright go have a look at it are you ready to
go?
Natalie: Yup.
Host: Okay. Stay dry, no pressure.
Natalie: Wish me luck.
Host: Yeah. Okay because I’m all play I’ve got the advantage. Here. Oh
remember the B.
Natalie: Oh the first one.
Host: There we go. I think you may be a little short. I don’t know.
Natalie: Oh wait. No wait I got it, it’s okay I’m safe.
Host: Not only you’re safe you’re playing a game. You don’t need that
caddy. You got your sand wedge does that feel good. Okay now
Wolf Creek as we mention one of 20 courses in the game. Natalie
is one of 7 professional women golfers they are 28 golfers in total.
Not that I’m trying to talk while you’re actually getting ready for
your swing but I have got to sell here.
It’s not too bad. It’s going to bait.
Natalie: That’s the best shot.
Host: You don’t look to now what are you.
Natalie: I’m replacing the divot.
Host: Is that what you’re doing?
Natalie: It’s a very detailed game.
Host: Is that what it is? Alright.
Natalie: I actually put my head down and I was swearing but it look like I
was tapping down the divot.
Host: E rated game, can’t do that. So what have I got here so I’m ready
to put and I’m going to look at what we’ve got here. You are not
going to have this because I have all play. Let’s say I’m going to
move a little bit to the left. I’m thinking I might give you a break. I
don’t know but we’ll see what happens here. Alright.
Natalie: Oh I’m celebrating too.
Host: The pressure is on I do believe.
Natalie: The pressures off you already beat me.
Host: I know I did but there’s an embarrassment level now you got to
live with this because you are playing advance mode. You don’t
get the benefit of the trails.
Natalie: Again, I see everything is going right to left so move a little bit
right.
Host: Okay. What is that in the background?
Natalie: It’s taking too long.
Host: That must be Nevada, do you get those things in Nevada.
Okay.
Natalie: Oh.
Host: Oh, is that what would you have done in that situation anyway, is
that what you would have done.
Natalie: toss the putter.
Host: Yeah, yeah, it’s in the game.
Excellent, excellent.
Natalie: So you got a chance.
So when are we going to play for real life now.
Host: Alright, we will— Wolf Creek because I haven’t played but that’s
a quick just of Wolf Creek so I know you like fun and social
games, like playing with folks together, the only thing we’re going
to do is have a full season— I know when Natalie was down there
in the Green we couldn’t get you off that thing for the last hour.
Pretty competitive but you’ll be offline or online play Tiger.
So even if you are in the road you can play online. You and I can
play. Regardless of where you are, it’s perfect for the social play
and version for the Wii which we need to get you a Wii apparently
you don’t have one.
Natalie: I will play and you’ll play regular.
Host: That’s more important we got 15— no that’s not going to work
out. 15 games, we’ve got speed golf as you could see here target
practice longest stride all the stuff you generally do. Range cut
showdown. Tiger Woods PGA Tour all play designed for the Wii
coming this August. Thanks for being here, great luck next
weekend defending the championship in France.
Natalie: Thank you.
Host: Natalie Gulbis everybody. Thanks Natalie.
Natalie: Thank you.
Host: Take that for me.
Natalie: Thanks.
Host: That wasn’t me right the hoop in the— sorry. EA Sports All play 5
games this summer and fall. We serious about the Wii and we
think there’s real upside opportunity in sports as we develop our
franchises from the ground up for that platforms o to recap there’s
something for everybody at EA Sports this year continued
innovation for our core consumer taking full advantage of the
opportunity online.

and features that will allow easier entry into this EA Sports nation,
