Lyle Hurd: Sherry, we have been talking about a number of subjects. What do you as a pharmacist, recommend for people that have arthritis or other chronic inflammation problems.
Sherry Torkos: Well, arthritis is one of the most common concerns that affect people today, especially those over age 50. Osteoarthritis, which is a degenerative joint disease, is the most common form of arthritis. But also, a lot of folks struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, which is an inflammatory disease where you have swelling and pain in the joints. And one of the things that I like to recommend is a patented ingredient called did celadrin and celadrin is a blend or we call them esterified fatty acids. And I think people today are aware of the benefits of fatty acids. There is a lot of news all the time about the benefits of fish oils and how they are good for the heart.
We also know that other fatty acids in particular, the fatty acids found in celadrin can be very effective for reducing inflammation and for lubricating the joints and the cell membranes. So, for those who are struggling with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and even other inflammatory condition such as psoriasis or eczema, which is skin issues surrounding inflammation, they can benefit from trying this supplement called celadrin. Now, celadrin is available in both capsules and in cream.
So, for those that are struggling with the skin issues, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, they can use the cream form of celadrin and apply that right to the skin and it helps to reduce the redness, the inflammation and also to improve the appearance and the tone and the texture of the skin. Although, the majority of the evidence on celadrin has focussed on its benefits for osteoarthritis and certain skin disorders. Inflammation is the reaction of the immune system where you have a production of substances that cause swelling and redness. We know that inflammation as if, is at the root of a number of health problems today. So, finding ways to naturally address inflammation, I think is very beneficial.
