Let us take a look for some other Baits.
There are lots of baits that you can find around a home or in the supermarket that are really useful for fishing. Here are just few of them, let us take a look.
Bread
Bread is one of the most popular baits for years.
(Examples)
You can use the bread punch which you can purchase from any good tackle shop. On the bread punch, punch the bread out and use this on a size 20 hook and you will catch lots small fish. Lots of roach, lots of skimmers, ideal in the winter and on the canals.
Also, we can use bread as bread flake. An ideal bait for catching large roach or rut, we just float the flake over the hook—on a size 12 hook and there you have a really good bait for large roach and tench.
Next, we have sweet corn.
Sweet corn is a fantastic bait, very good for big fish. Big roach, tench, and carp. We hook sweet corn onto a size 12 hook simply like so,

A very easy bait to use and a very good bait particularly good in the summer.
The next bait we have is one of our most common baits, that is the worm.
You can gather them yourself in the garden on from your own compost pit but you can also buy them in tubs from tackle shops.
Now the worm is the favorite or large perch, tench, chub and carp. Fantastic natural bait, and the way we hook the worm is just float the head using a size 16 or 12 hook. But you must remember to use a strong wired hook because you are likely to pick up big fish for worm.

The next bait is Luncheon Meat.
Luncheon meat is a very easy bait you can buy. You can buy it in any supermarket but you need a firm pork luncheon meat.
Luncheon meat needs a little preparation before we can use it. We need to cut it up into small cubes, and bring to the bank before putting it in the hook.
The small cubes of luncheon meat can literally be hooked on a size 12 and use as it is.
But if you are going to use larger cubes, then you really need to actually put on a usual bait needle with the bait stop behind. Otherwise, luncheon meat of that size is likely to fly off when you cast.
The final bait that we have here is Hemp.
Now this Hemp is one of the best bait you can use for loose feeding. It is fantastic for holding fish in the swim and they use it all the time fishing for roach, tench and carp.
I also use this mixed with my ground bait. But Hemp, being seed bait, does need some preparation before you can use it. And if you buy it in a dried state, you need to soak it over night and then boil it for 20 to 30 minutes the following day.
Alternatively of course, you can buy this ready prepared from many good tackle shops.
So there is a selection of so many common baits. Hope you enjoy using them.
