Laura: Dick, I know about what a hike really soot and the bugs are just nuts! I wonder if you could explain to me, why that cream that you gave me works so well?
Dick: The compound called DEET was developed during the World War 2 for the troops in the South Pacific and that stuff really works and you find it virtually every bug repellant on the market today. There are some tricks to apply it to get it make last longer, I have a little bit hand cream in here.
Laura: Okay
Dick Just a little bit of that, put that on to your face. And what that does prevents the DEET from going too far into the skin.
Laura: Right
Dick: We put a little bit on that, okay rub that in and that will last longer.
Laura: In this will work for anybody in North America, for all the bugs there, this will work for anything.
Dick: Absolutely right, but it is interesting—nature got some natural repellants, that is what we are going to find.
Laura: Okay, let us do that!
Dick Laura, here is a natural remedy. We need up here just a scrip of this of canoe birch tree, many of which are found across North America, just get that knife in there peel off a little strip, you hold that.
Laura: Okay
Dick: That is the bark of Conifer, what I going to do is put a little bit oil on top that, now you take oil smear it all in your face and you will be amazed on how that feels. And now a second one, and by the way, it is found in North America.
Laura: Okay smells so good!
Dick: Here is the Yero, these are the leaves of the Yero plan, this is also is very, very repellant to bugs. I just rub it in my hands, roll them on my face, we are all set.
Laura: Great
Dick Let us go!
Laura: Okay.
Dick: Laura, when the bugs get really bad, anywhere in the world, the bug shirt is the ultimate solution. Take off your hat.
Laura: Okay
Dick We going to change hat, this one goes on, you just drop that one.
Laura: Wow! Take not bugs, how do I look?
Dick: Beautiful.
Laura: Great!
