Okay one more thing I decided I do not like this little plate to just sit on there, just kind of bother me. So, I am going to do right now what I have should have done from the beginning and that is fill that hole. And, the best way to fill it I believe would be to get a piece of wood that fits the hole in the door. So, I am going to use it, use one of these—we are going to use the 2x4, the problem is it is a little bit wider, which it has always been smaller. And, we will fix this problem.
Oh yes! I have my piece of wood now. All I have to do is get it out of here. Stuffed it on the door and will be in business. So, here I have my piece of wood stuffed in there, but yes it was little large. So, I sand it down now with the belt sander. And, make it all nice and level. And you know I normally would not recommend doing this sort of things, except for the fact that we are working with the various stress finish on the door. So, it will work out in the end for me.
So, here you go. Here is another helpful tip. I took my patching compound and I mix it with the deep ground flat paint that I have underneath of the door. And, that just makes it extra great, because of all the steps that you are going to be involved bringing this back to the gravel finish and in any ways it is already dark brown with the stack on.
So, there we go I fix it. It is like there was never a hole in door to begin with, so this is wonderful, now we can finally install these things.
