She is happy. She is at home and she is here to empower you. She is the Handy Goddess!
So, I decided that I needed some more old wood. And I went shopping. Actually, it was free shopping. I found this old branch on the ills and they just let me take some stuff from these stables, but this is great Look at this some of these stuffs. We got holes from this wood. I still do not know what I am going to do with this yet to construct the doorframe, but we are going to work on that a little bit. I just wan t to show you all these great
selection of wonderful stuff that I found and it is all washed, dried and ready to go.
Okay, so let us pull together. All right, here we go. So, what do I have here? I have my big board that I found back here that I have cut into pieces and I am going to use two of them. And, the door casing or the door frame on one side. And then I found some 2x4s, they are nice and beat up. We are going to use those for the other side of the door, okay.
So, I figure that we are going to do. Oh! Goodness! These ones are thick, you know not like where you will have a door casing. And then we have this, you know, and I get two of this, one for each side of the door. Pretty cool, that I found actually two of these and this is too thin for this and too thick for a regular board that would be great for a door frame, but all these problems.
So, you know that slightest to do. I am going to sandwich these stuffs together and this is going to frame out this and this kind of our paint job that we will be working towards, but it is not finish yet, but we are going to love this. Okay, I am going to get gluing this and I will show you how this is just going to put this on either side for half hour. This is going to be interesting.
So, I have a board cut, and what I like to do is, cut like this.
[Demo]
Yes, so we got a screw in it.
That beats me up.
Use lots of glue, okay? So, I am not going to glue the heck out of this baby.
Beautiful. And then, smash it down on my board, all right and then, screw it together. And, I will be doing an awful sanding on it, so I am going to do it to like take the screws out and so--do not worry about it
But for now, while the glue is drying, because this is a rustic look, I can get away with doing this, or of course, I am going to nail it to or screw it from the other side, where I am not to be doing any sanding, which I think I will do that too.
Okay, some of it are flat pieces in. Soon we will be ready for painting.
Alright, is it this great? I got everything done. I got my board sandwiched and I got my header piece, with its back on. And now, I put the whole puzzle together, kind of sort of—but actually, I am not going to cut the pieces of two in the exact size until we get there. Okay so here you can see. I am doing something else, instead of painting. I changed my mind, well actually when I change my mind, I realized that when we are finish constructing this. I really want this pieces join together before we are going to pull up the door. And I want them flushed from the front, so, what I have done here is, I flip them over and connect them together. And as you are connecting with this, cute little left strips, which I found in my backyard. And it is perfect! So, if I flip it upside down, when I glue it [dog barks] glue it all down. We are going to have one big connective piece, and it will look much better, if I painted it --so connecting it.
[Demo]
Okay! Yes! Okay, so let us see what we got. Yes! Hold it as one piece. This is great, okay? Now, this is going to be a much easier to match above the door, it is so much better. I was getting a little concern, but now my concern is gone. This is perfect! Now it is one of those structure.
Oh, yes! Now, we can paint it.
