A "New York Pushcart Dog" is one that is simmered in water along with a lot of other hot dogs. The water becomes oily due to all the hotdogs. They are then put on a hot dog roll, mustard and sauerkrauty is the tradional topping, and that's it. Here's a site you can get hotdogs from and also knishes. Another NY favorite. http://www.nyhot dog.com/ I just recently had a "Chicago Style" hotdog with the thin slice of pickle, tomato, onion, that neon green relish, small sports peppers and topped with a stadium type mustard. On a poppy seed top split bun. Excellent!

Yea I agree, I don't know what this broad is talking about, but when I saw "Ball Park Franks," I knew there was something wrong. Where is she from? Idaho or something? New York dogs are Sabbrett's, Hebrew National, Nathan's Famous, etc., and are served with regular yellow mustard and sauerkraut. Maybe "Jill" should have done just a tiiiiny bit of research before getting this completely wrong.

NY street dogs are cooked in water (dirty water dogs) and I've never seen them with dijon mustard.
