Arthur St. Antoine: This is the Nissan 370Z with the special NISMO package that adds an upgraded support Suspension, sticky ADVAN tires, the arrow body kit around and lots of extras; should be one of the better handlers around monster raceway Laguna Seca, let's see how it does.
Male Speaker: This is the 370Z NISMO package; it has the arrow kit, the ADVAN tires, the support suspension, what do you think?
Randy Pobst: It's got a lot of race car in and I got to say really enjoyed this car on the track here at monster raceway at Laguna Seca. It had a very unusual tendency to get loose, the tail would come out during the entry phase at the corner. As I was turning in to the corner, I could feel the tail starting to move and then it just stopped and that's all further it went, and it was a beautiful thing.
It's a very happy car, creates its own drifts. I don't have to make it drift as a driver. I just turn the wheel and into the corner at a good rate of speed and it rotates on its own and takes a set that's in a little bit of a drift, absolutely minimal under-steer but still stable.
And getting car to be able to drift the tail up but still be stable and predictable that's a very difficult thing to do. And it's very, very rewarding from a driver's stand point. I enjoyed the handling a lot. Not too crazy about the engine. After the Porsche which had this smooth tone, this was more coarse and it just didn't feel that strong, it is raving and I think the red line was about the 7,500.
But the motor just sounded kind of like a school bus engine. Now it is a fabulous car but I mean compared to some of the fine engines that we have driven here today, it was definitely on the school bus side of things. Very, very satisfying car to drive; race car like experience. I found that I could confidently drift this car closer to the edge of the track than any other car I have driven today, and just know where it's going to be.
