This is Phone Arenas video review of the simple yet stylish Nokia 6030 GSM phone. It is so small entry level candy bar with basic features but elegant in stylish design ideal for voice entry communications. The construction is solid and because of the rounded curve and little weight which is only 3.2 ounces. The phone feels very comfortable on the hand and pocket.
The screen is 128 by 128 pixels, display’s 65000 colors and can be easily seen in direct sunlight. With its small resolution and poorly saturated colors, images displayed on it don’t look very real. Below it is the keypad; the keys are large with lots of space between them and with excellent tactile press response.
The D-pad is problematic. It is small and hard to press so we do not find it comfortable to use. There no buttons on the sides of the phone and at the bottom there are several separate Nokia connectors in the place of the standard Pop port.
Nothing extra ordinary in the features but the home screen displays service information while the main menu is a three by three grid of icons and moving to its grids slow. New contacts can be easily added but they don’t have personal images or ring tones assigned to them
Creating a message is piece of cake with help of the T9 text input. The same goes for edit go to the simple calendar that even lacks a view by date. For connectivity only GPRS data is supported.
The voice quality of the devices is excellent, very loud earpiece and a speaker phone bonus. Only the outgoing sound is slightly muffled but still loud and clear. The stand by time in the phone if never touch is about twelve days. But in the real world withy moderate talk of about thirty minutes a day the phone should last for three or four days. The rated talk time is actually three hours. The sturdy construction excellent voice quality and good standby battery made this 6030 a pure winner in its class.
And the stylish design makes it look as a mid end phone which it is not.
