This is Phone Arena’s video review of the Nokia 6500 Classic. The 65 series include two phones, the 65 Classic and the 6500 slide. They use both use series for the user interface and have 3G net of support. The 65 Classic, it’s a candy bar with stylish design and slim body, and that’s where the name comes from, classic phone factor and colors.
Some parts of the phone are made of aluminum and it’s very nice to feel the coolness of the metal in your hand. Except for the plastic battery cover, the keyboard in the top, their things are made of metal. The display is two inch QVGA resolution and the images are very bright and contracting with deep 16 million colors. It is scratch resistant, but will not protect the glass and it will actually touch the LCD itself.
The keys are not the biggest we have seen, but work pretty fine with good tech feedback. The several arts on the numeric keys in the D pad are raised and this is very helpful to distinguish one button from another. You can see that there are not additional keys on the sides and the only other thing is the Micro USB charger on top which is under rubber cover.
The 65 Classic uses fifth edition of the series for the user interface. The phonebook is standard one and you can add multiple numbers per contact, picture ID, video ID and many other details.
In the organizer menu, you will find the ORM calendar and other features. From the immediate menu, you can get access to the camera, video recorder, media player and other multimedia functions.
Don’t expect too much from the two mega pixel camera because the 65 Classic is not meant to be dedicated camera phone. Its interface is portray orientation and when it’s active, there is information about the resolution, the quality and the remaining pictures.
The video player can only show videos with QCIF resolution, which is quite strange baring to mind the QVGA resolution of the main display. For storing media files, you have 900 megabytes free internal memory and additional 25 megabytes for strong messages, making notes in the organizer, etcetera.
As a whole, this Nokia phone shows clearly that it’s not the multimedia device nor a camera phone. You can take pictures, watch video or listen to music, but don’t expect to gain the same performance like the dedicated camera and media phones can give you.
Here is all about style look. We’re convinced that Nokia 65 Classic is a appealing for those customers who don’t need the best functionality but want to get the classic playing design.
