Nokia 8800 Arte - Review
You’re watching phonearenas video review of Arte, one of the latest representatives of the Luxury 8800 series by Nokia. It mainly targets the upper class customers who want to distinguish themselves from the crowd with fines. Like the rest of the phones from this line, Arte is a slider with a clear design and a solid body. The weight of 150 grams is justified by the high quality material used such as glass and stainless steel and they make you feel more confident when holding the phone in your hand. Nokia claims that the glass covering the front has anti-fingerprints coding but in reality it is a fingerprint magnet. On the front is located the two inch all out display with the resolution of 240x320 pixels and 16 million colors. The picture looks real but once the screen misses directly with the sunlight, almost nothing can be seen on it.
Over the display we see the ambient light sensor and right next to it is the loud speaker. Under the display we have the 540 D pad Collins and the two software keys. All of them invisible until the phone is opened or unlock. The buttons have no relief in our parts of the glass surface which is almost level with the display. The D-pad is a rectangular within the metal edge which surrounding a big okay button which in sapphire is made of a real sapphire. The smooth surface separate it from the upper part by the two chrome lines is a tap pad. When you tap it twice with a finger, all it does will show you analogue or a digital clock. Another interesting option is the way you can silence the phones ringing or incoming call, just place it face down and it will mute the sound but this action has to do repeated for all the future calls. Auto-sliding mechanism isn’t very good also which is not typical for most phones of this type.
Opening it reveals that the default keypad and the buttons line up gradually from bottom to top, they were relived but the top row is too close to the edge is and it's difficult to press. Nokia 8800 order uses the series for the interface and here we have the latest fifth edition US and the 7900 prism and 6500, 5600 and ten XPressMusic and others. You have the option to unable the active standby to appear on the home screen which has showed because it’s of organizer information. However if you want to keep things simple and you have nothing more than it feature assist respectively for the two function of us and in the middle over the D-pad. The main menu is visualized and there’s a free bar free grid with labels by default but you can also choose list and 3X4 grid or tabs.
The phonebook and the organizer are the standards for the series fully and there is nothing to surprise us here. The interface of the 3.2 mega pixel camera with the auto-focus and flash takes two seconds to start and it's very simple. And the quality of the pictures justifies the camera’s idea. And they are okay for recording a given moment. The images are better than average but it can be compared with the top camera phones having the same resolution. Here we pleasantly surprise from the fact that is you will be able to record VGA videos. The music player has a nice user friendly interface with the standard four series for the options including equalizer, background playing and sorting by album or list in general.
If you are the kind of person who wants to demonstrate the class and prosperity and then looking for a good phone, then don’t hesitate to get the Nokia 8800 Arte, well if you think it looks too modest for you and you are looking for something more flamboyant. Aim your vision at the rest of the phone so the manufacturer of this class like sapphire or there Luna or 7900 prism. Thank for watching.
